We chose to get the Graco Nautilus for our twins when they were 2. They're great carseats for harness but they're bulky taking up a lot of space and HEAVY. Also, they just switched to buckling with the car seatbelt and struggle constantly to buckle themselves because it is so bulky the seat belt locks up everytime they try which has left me searching for new boosters for them (meaning the $200 I spent to never buy another carseat was wasted). Our 2 year old is ready for an upgrade from his Graco My Ride carseat so I started shopping around again because (with recent developments, we decided against the Nautilus for him). I wanted a couple specific features in the carseat I bought for him which included high harness weight (65lbs), above regulation safety, and built in cup holders. Well this seat has all of that and then some. We just got it on Friday and although it too a little getting used to with the new harness straps that buckle on instead of clip onto the hooks in my car once I got the hang of it the seat will not budge because I can get it so tight. There are TWO built in cup holders (which it wonderful because when we travel we always need more room, one cup holder for food and one for cup) Also, the design is sleek so it gives us more room in our suburban for other kids (since we have 4 and babysit 2 and 5/6 are in carseats this extra space is a life saver), however there is still plenty of room for our sons behind in the seat to let him be comfortable without being squashed into the seat and it curves enough that when he falls asleep his head and body rest back against the seat instead of being left to slump forward. The padding is really good as well which is important when they are in it alot. The harness system that holds the kid in the seat is awesome too, most of evenflos carseats have a strange tightening system where it tightens on their chest which is a pain and gets twisted (we own one of these as a spare for the son we bought this for) but this one has the under seat system which is soooo much easier. The only two CONS that I have found with this seat so far is that the head rest seems pretty flimsy, maybe in future design it will sit back into the seat a little better making it more stable. Then the seat straps do sit a little close at the neck where it digs in if they move around even a little. He dosnt complain about this but we will be getting covers so that it sits on his neck instead of digging into his neck. For the price this is a great carseat and was exactly what I was hoping for (except for the tiny flaws).

Update:

Okay, so the last week we have been having problems getting my son out of his seat because the bottom buckle locked up. Well yesterday I literally had to unlatch the seat with my son in it and take the buckles out from the back to get my son out of the seat. Scared me ALOT to think my son was trapped in a carseat I spent $125 on. Contacted customer service at Amazon and they're sending me a replacement seat. If this happens again I will be getting a refund and finding another seat but am willing to give it another chance because overall it is a great seat. Hoping I got a defective buckle and do not have issues with the next one. Give an update in a while either way.

We also have the Maestro and decided to get this booster/carseat as a step up from that. It is a great car seat. It has alot more padding then the Maestro. In general I love the latch system, the cup holders and the head rest area. My daughter falls asleep in it, no problem. She rarely sleeps in the Maestro though.

This is a really nice car seat. I used this to replace a more expensive Sunshine Kids (Diono) Radian65SL that I had to move into another car. This car seat is your basic front facing car seat that supports harness support up to 65 lbs. What sets this car seat apart from others is that you really cant get a 65 lb 5-pt harness car seat close to the $100 price range that this one is offered at. It makes me wonder why isnt everyone getting this? I bought my Sunshine Kids car seat previously for its very narrow profile (fits 3 in a row in a medium sized car) and the STEEL support frame. This SecureKid uses a reinforced plastic frame and still has a somewhat narrow profile compared to other convertible car seats (have you noticed? some are like thrones and almost take up 2 whole passenger seats!). The padding on this car seat is adequate but definitely not super plush. As a side note, this car seat is very sporty and stylish but don't ever buy it for looks! More importantly make sure it installs securely in YOUR car.

ps-i bought this car seat from another website that I found to be cheaper when I realized amazon charged tax on this product.

Honest reviews on Evenflo Securekid 300 Loy Car Seat Booster

I have a 40 pound 23 month old and 40 pound 5 year old. The older one I was worried about switching out of her harness, and the younger one I wanted to keep in one obviously. I decided to go with this seat after viewing an online review of it. It's great. Both kids fit in perfectly with plenty of room to grow and I LOVE the latch clasps. It took me 2 minutes to unhook both seats and position them in a different car, they have a seat belt like unhooker. Also, when I do decide to switch the kids to seat belts, the positioner in this one is MUCH more safe looking than the other seats we had. The positioner wraps the seatbelt over the top of the shoulder like they're supposed to instead of laying wherever it feels like. Plus the kids like the drink holders. They're much better than the others that are removable and essentially pointless. The only downfall is that cups with wide bottoms won't fit in there, we just make sure to use those in the house and save our narrow bottom cups for the car.

I wanted another 5pt harness for my 4 and a 1/2 year old. The thought of putting him in a booster with just a seat belt was not appealing to me at all. The only down side to this car seat is the buckle can be hard for him to buckle himself. But it's a great size, easy to install and he loves the face that he has two cup holders. We also have a Nautilus and this is very similar in size and comfort.

We already owned a Britax Frontier 85, and needed a big kid seat for our second child and this one had just been announced, so we held off to purchase this one. It is Britax's answer to the Graco Nautilus, and by far superior. Clearly not the Frontier, less bells and whistles, no fancy locking mechanism for the seatbelt, cheaper fabirc, over all a more bare bones seat but 10x easier to install than a Nautilus, durable, and long lasting. Seeing as my 5 year old has yet to hit 35lbs, the lower weight limit of just 70lbs harnessed will be a non-issue. Unless you have bigger kids, this seat is more than plenty. If money were no option I would likely still buy this over the Frontier, and the green kiwi cover helps too so nice to have boy options other than blue, red, or black!

I needed a new seat for my small three year old, so she could easily get in and out by herself. It was just getting too cumbersome to get her in and out of the Britax Marathon, even though she was nowhere near the height or weight limits! I was having a hard time deciding between the Frontier 85, Frontier 90, and the Pioneer 70. After reading and watching the few reviews on the Pioneer 70, I went for it. It doesn't have the ClickTight (Frontier 90), HUGS, or EZ Buckle (Frontier 90), but after reading on Britax's site and on various forums about each of those features, I was okay with not having them. Installation was easy. My daughter loves her seat!

Britax always equals quality. This car seat is no exception. Amazon does not "up-charge" for the various color options. A huge plus IMHO. Absolutely love the kiwi green!!!

Honest reviews on Britax Pioneer 70 Harness-2-Booster Car Seat

When installed properly, the seat will hardly move a millimeter at the base OR the tippy top. I will absolutely agree with other reviewers about the disappointment that you can't use Latch for kids over 40 lbs. My son isn't yet over 40 lbs, but I wanted to start installing with the belt path so I didn't forget to switch it over when he crossed that threshold. The seat itself is pretty heavy, too.

That said, while installing with the belt path takes a couple tries to get used to, it's super easy once you've done it a couple times. And be SURE to use the rear anchor over the back of the seat, it really stabilizes the seat. When installed properly with the seatbelt locked (look at your car's manual to find how to lock the shoulder belt so it can't loosen) this carseat is very stable, hardly moves (what I've always loved about Britax seats they always feel SO sturdy when installed), and gives my 2.5 year old extremely tall son lots of extra leg room and cup holders! It also sits him up straighter than his previous seats, which he loves he can see out much easier.. though it does make it harder for him to nap in.

Overall, I love this seat and wish I could replace our other two Britax seats with this right now!

My 2 and a half year old son is Houdini. He has escaped from, literally, 5 of his car seats: Graco Nautilus (we had 2) Graco Smartseat all in one, Britax Boulevard (the old style, we had 2, ), . He outgrew his Chicco Keyfit (we loved and miss it!), and got too broad in the shoulders for his Britax Advocate (new style)

We loved our Frontier, and it was stolen from the truck. We were short on money, so we got a newer style Graco, and he is getting out of it. :-/

Now we are on car seat number 10. I played with the new Britax seats in Babies r Us, before I picked one. I'm going with this. Britax safety, at a MUCH smaller cost. I WISH I could have gotten this in January when our last Britax was stolen!

UPDATE: We HATE THIS car seat!!! The straps are crazy hard to tighten, the super tight fit I got the first day was a fluke, and there is already a broken part, less than 3 months in.

The convertible car seats have exterior integrated steal bars on each side, and the LATCH is fixed to those. One independent strap and buckle for each side. INSANELY easy for a perfect installation EVERY time! LOVED that style. But this has one strap, that goes behind the padding. The path for both Latch and seat belt are SO HIGH that getting a tight fit is nearly impossible. I have contacted Britax, to ask what gives!?

UPDATE AGAIN: Apparently, this car seat isn't compatible with our Ford Expedition. I've tried all the steps with Britax to get it installed properly, and it just doesn't install. We're craig's listing it, and using a Marathon G3 for now.

The padalily is awesomePadalily the Original car seat handle cushion Hottie Tottie-My friend uses hers ALL the time, to relieve pain in your hand while carrying the baby car seat around. And as soon as my daughter arrives I too will be using it all the time. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I think it's a bit high in price but it does serve a good purpose!

This is a truly awesome doo-dad for saving your arms while carrying your little one in the car carrier. I used mine from 1 month to 8 months (and now we've moved to a different car seat) and it never lost its soft, comfy thickness.

Something you may already have figured out, but I didn't, is that you can hook the baby dangling toys fromthe side rings. We used them constantly with our daughter. Because the dangly would often simply dangle in her face if placed directly on the side rings, we'd also connect the dangly toy through the side rings and then through the side of the car seat handle. That way the dangly would be out of her way but high enough on the handle to actually "dangle."

This is an extra that isn't absolutely critical but certainly does help in carrying a heavy car carrier + infant for several months.

This is a great product and I was so glad I heard about it from another mom. It really saves your arm when carrying that heavy carseat. The rings are great for holding toys as well. I'd give it five stars if the padding were as thick as the day I got it, but overall it is wonderful to have.

The stitching on the Velcro came loose after using for a couple days. Very disappointed. Other than falling apart, it is a good concept.

Like everyone else, we have a recent newborn and had placed an order for this product in January. Uppababy had some production issues, and supplies were limited. We were lucky enough to get this product through an Amazon seller. This product is awesome and well worth the wait.

We had borrowed the Greco car seat from some friends for a couple of weeks and the Mesa is so much nicer (albeit at a higher price tag). The installation is incredibly easy. For the latch system, it takes less than 30 seconds. I had to put it in a car with no latches (ie use the seat belt method). Although it took some time to figure it out, the warning systems on the base make sure you install it correctly. The material used for the seat are high quality. The shoulder straps move when adjusting the SIP. This saves a ton of time when fitting the seat for your baby. Lastly, there is an infant insert that can be confusing, but when you figure it out, the infant can be in the seat with little back pressure (which is nice as the bassinet can be cumbersome in some restaurants).

Also, we had some questions as the manual is confusing. Uppababy support was prompt and helpful in their replies.

Unfortunately, there are adapters for Vista's 2013 and earlier models.

Pros:

quick, easy, and safe install

narrow base, can be used with bucket seats

flat base (no need to protect your car seats

high quality fabric (much nicer than other high end models)

easy to adjust the seat (for most adjustments, takes less than a minute)

great customer service

Cons:

expensive

production issues

manual is a little confusing

need an adapter for the Vista

Summary: We are REALLY happy with this seat.

Update:

We have had this seat for a while now. My 2 big complaints deal with the canopy. It does not stay fully up. Also, the canopy did stain when water hit it. I just saw the UB you tube channel that you can wash it, so we will try that. However, we are overall happy with the seat. I did lower it one star because of this update.

It's a very good quality product but quite heavy for moms (father's opinion). The nicest thing about it is that you can use it on a Vista, and the car with or without base.

Received this stroller the other day with the infant seat in a travel system and I have to say right off the bat I was impressed by the way it looks even before using it! I got it in the Jet Set color Red and Black and it looks soooo nice! Very easy to put together, took me only a few minutes and the instructions book was very straight forward and easy to understand. I have had strollers in the past take forever to put together and be big and bulky and this was neither of those things!

Trying it out it was very easy to manage through the streets of Los Angeles, I live right in the city, and also while holding a dog leash. I have a large dog so it worked with everything! The bottom also holds bags so you don't have to worry about cramming something big into the basket it will all fit! The cup holder is a nice touch as well, many strollers I have had in the past did not have one and I have bought one to put on that usually ended up spilling my coffee all over the place. This cup holder was steady and sturdy for me!

The infant seat was a breeze to install and it lets you know when you've got it right, which is nice! Also the straps do not get tangled, and with other models this can be a real pain.

I will definitely be recommending this to other moms I know along with the infant car seat!

Disclosure: I was given a free sample of this product to review. However, my opinions are my own.

I have been using my Fuze Travel System with Prodigy Infant Car Seat for two weeks now and I am so happy with it! Out of the box it was SIMPLE to assemble...honestly it's fool proof! The display on the base is awesome and made me realize just how improperly I was installing previous bases yikes! Every time I move my car seat to another car I am stressed that it's not secure; I hate to admit it but my husband is just stronger and our old seat was much more stable when he fastened it...not with the prodigy! Gone are the days of struggling with a strap and pulling and tugging until my hands are red...the ratchet is a game changer! Let's not forget the car seat material...it feels like silk in there; I love knowing that my daughter is comfy cozy! The Fuze car seat adapter was a cinch to install and the stroller's multi-position handlebar is really handy when you're short like me. The stroller has a large basket, which is sooo nice; but the really great feature, which I discovered yesterday, is that there is a spring mechanism on the basket...when I saw it I literally called my husband over and yelled "LOOK AT THIS!" He wasn't quite as excited ☺ I was ALWAYS struggling to pull my diaper bag out from the basket with my oldest daughter...the spring will make this so much easier!

After assembling the system, I was reading about different features, I thought the "pedicure saver" brake was kind of hokey....ummm it's not! I broke out my favorite fall boots the other day and noticed the toe was all scuffed up...I didn't realize why until I went to release the break on my fuse and muscle memory prompted me to put my toe under the brake; then it dawned on me that is I where my scuffs came from...so thank you Summer Infant for keeping my shoes scuff free!

Two minor things to note; first, I noticed a bit of an odor to the material of the car seat when I pulled it out of the box but by the end of the night it was gone so don't fret if you notice the same. I would never let my daughter sit in something that I felt posed a hazard and we used it the next day. Second, the Fuze comes with a cup holder (excellent!) however, you have to take it off when collapsing the system or else it flies off. No biggie, I just store it in the basket and grab it when I need it. I have to mention that I was given this travel system and asked to use and review it; that being said the opinions of this review are my own and not influenced by any party.

Best Deals for Summer Fuze Travel System with Prodigy Infant Car Seat

The instructions to put this stroller together were very simple to follow. The car seat was ready to go right out of the box.. Even the batteries were already in!

The car seat is easy to install with the digital screen and green smiley faces, letting me know the base was secure in my car.

The stroller can be used 3 ways with the car seat, forward, and rear facing. I am currently using the stroller with the included adapter that holds the cars seat. The main thing I wanted out of this stroller was the rear facing function so I can see my son. I haven't been able to use it yet, but I have put the seat on and played around with it and I think it will work just as it should.

Other than that, this stroller is lightweight and folds easy with the adapter or seat on. I usually take the cup holder off and store it in the basket. When I unfold it, the cup holder is easy so put back on.

Honest reviews on Summer Fuze Travel System with Prodigy Infant Car Seat

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The stroller is lightweight, seems to be well made, nice quality material, the two-year-old found it comfy, but she wanted her own cup holder! The brake hit dad's foot a few times, so designed more for mom's feet, perhaps? With the younger baby in the car seat, the seat was a bit heavy for the mom to carry,. She questioned as to whether the car seat can face forward when the baby is older. Seems to be well designed, but maybe needs tweaking for a couple issues. All things considered, will help transport the grandchildren safely.

Overall, I think the Fuze Travel System is a great system and would recommend it to anyone. Below are my pros and cons.

Pros:

Extremely easy to put together and I am not handy at all. I had it done in less than 10 minutes and didn't really need to follow the directions at all.

Car seat was extremely easy to install following the icons. I know my son is safe and secure. I also love that the straps adjust as my son grows!

The handle bar adjusts which is perfect for my family as I am 5'1" and my husband is 6'1".

The reclining seat is perfect for when my son is napping. The seat is also large enough for older children. Both my 3 year old and 6 month old love the seat.

The basket underneath is roomy enough for my diaper bag and all my purchases when I am out shopping!

I love the fact that you can move the seat to make the child forward facing or rear facing if they are younger and you want to keep an eye on them.

For being a larger stroller, it is extremely light weight and easy to navigate over all terrain. I have used it on grass, pavement and bumpy dirt roads without a problem. It also folds up very nicely and doesn't take up too much room in my trunk.

Cons:

I wish there was more than 1 cup holder or another space up top for me to use. When taking longer walks, I like to have my cell phone/keys near me. With this stroller, other than the cup holder, your keys, phone and other items need to go in the mesh bag area on the back of the seat. When you are using the infant seat adaptor, there is no mesh area and all you have to use is the one cup holder or bottom basket.

Often times you have to remove the cup holder when folding the stroller or the cup holder almost gets pushed off when a folds. Not a huge deal but you have to remember to put it back on the next time you want to use it.

I'm buying a second of these for our van. I like it because it fits well, is a light color, and grips instead of sliding like a lot of cars protectors. We also never use the mesh holders like we have on one of our other car seat protectors so we don't miss that. I also wanted to comment that there is a strap that holds this up to the back of the seat of your car so it won't fall down if you just have a booster or something like that.

My husband just got a new VW Jetta TDI and not only wanted a cover to protect the driver seat, since he sometimes gets dirty at work, but also needed a protector for under our son's car seat. It works perfectly in both duties. It's a snug fit under the carseat and as a seat cover for the front, it fits perfectly. It's so easy to install and take off (which is an important feature for the front seat) We're very pleased!

We just purchased a 2011 Toyota Sienna and were interested in protecting the leather. This product does a great job and it is also a material that is non slip. Simple to install and delivers the protection needed with 3 car seats in there. I highly recommend it.

Honest reviews on Diono Grip It Car Seat Gripper, Grey

I picked this up (or an older version) at a local high-end baby specialty store in 2007-2008. It worked OK in my 2001 Audi A4 with gray leatherette interior, with our Britax Boulevard convertible car seat, and Chicco Keyfit infant car seat. I should note that the flimsy straps meant to connect the top of the protector to the headrest didn't last long. But it wasn't a big deal since the convertible car seat holds it in place just fine, esp. given how tight I install our seats (with essentially no movement in any direction). And some reviewers have noted this product might be a little too small for some car seats, but mine has been big enough to protect the leather in my 2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD from both our Britax Boulevard and now our new Britax Frontier 85 SICT harness booster --possibly the largest car seat on the market? Regarding safety and fit, I see no problem with this seat protector whatsoever. It is thin and held in place very stable, and my car seats don't budge an inch, when installed properly. As for protecting the seat --the primary role of this device-I have not had any scratches or anything, but I have no idea whether I would have without the protector. I can tell you that my leather back seat in my Murano is fairly badly indented from the past 3 years of a tightly installed Britax Boulevard. So don't expect this seat protector to protect against that, though it's probably unreasonable to expect such from any car seat protector that's thin enough to maintain the safe, tight fit of the car seat, I'd wager.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Diono Grip It Car Seat Gripper, Grey

This is a cheaper product but it works quite. If you want something that will totally stop car seat indentions this is not it. We had them in for a couple of weeks then had to take them all out and there was indention on the cloth. It does grip well and protects from the grim, drinks and food that come with small kids (or at least our small kids). We would not replace these as we are happy with them and they work for our needs which are manly a desire to protect from the "icky stuff" on our cloth seats. We would also buy them again.

My husband and I went shopping for a travel system and orignally picked out the Forcaster Fast Action Fold system. He loved the one handed fold, but I was not happy about the design of the basket on the bottom, it was small and made funny. But it was super easy so I went with it. One day just browsing Walmart.com I ran across the Fast Action Fold DLX Jacqueline and was immediately drawn to the colors. Walmart.com had it advertised for $183.99, only $5.00 more than what I paid for the Forcaster and this one came with the snugride 30 carseat. Checked here on Amazon and it was $199.99, so I put it in my wishlist at the other site. TO my surprise when I went back to purchase later that night they were sold out online. I was so disappointed, but I checked Amazon again before giving up, and to my surprise again Amazon had changed the price from $199.99 to $183.99 the same price as Walmart.com. I purchased it immediately and could not be happier. Amazon.com is great! First, Amazon stated it would not be delivered for 1-2 months with an approximate delivery date of Oct 24 Nov 9. I received my travel system October 9th!!! Second, it is so easy to assemble. My sister put it together in what seemed like 15 minutes, after reading the instructions. Third, the pattern is beautiful for a little girl, but its not to girly for dad to push the stroller. The stroller turns smoothly and easily manuevered with one hand, of course that is without a juicy baby in it, but it is very light. The carseat is light weight as well and the best part is that it is so easy to attach to the in car base and stroller. No struggling to latch on or remove, and the one hand fold is amazing. And by the way the basket on the bottom is Huge!!! I am so happy I was able to get the Graco FastAction Fold DLX Travel System, Jacqueline and at such a great price!!! I thank Amazon for their competitive pricing, great communication, and fast delivery.

If anyone reading this review is considering this Travel system, I highly recommend it. I am a mother of two already and I must admit this is the easiest stroller I have ever had to fold and unfold. A must have for mom and baby... Thank you

I have been really happy with this car seat/stroller so far. My daughter was 4 weeks premature, weighing 5 lbs and 4 ounces at hospital discharge. We were able to adjust the seat straps, and she still fit snug and securely in the seat. The built in head support was greatno need to purchase an additional support. The seat very easily goes into and out of the base. It's also very easy to snap into the stroller. My husband really likes the additional sun shade built into the stroller. When we go out, we can pull together both shades to protect her from the sun, etc., but can still keep on eye on her due to the cut out screen. The under seat basket is spacious. I was a little skeptical about the paisley pattern at first, but once it arrived, and I saw it in person, I really like it.

As insignificant as it seems, the parent cup holders are GREAT. My husband always has a bottled water or drink with him, and the cup holders are used every time we use the stroller. The handles have a foam layer that is comfy.

We've only had one "problem" with the stroller... my husband has a long walking stride, and he accidently kicked the brake lock while walking one time. This immediately caused the wheel to lock and turn sharply.

Advicego ahead and buy an extra base when you purchase the stroller.

Me and my fiancée have looked and looked for the stroller that we really want. Every time we "think" we found the one, it was either too much or just not to our liking. Once we came across this stroller, it was the one. The design isn't "too" girly, just right! What made this one different is it has a pretty design that we love, has a large storage basket, two deep cup holders (for parents) and a one-second fold.

I did think that the stroller was going to be too big for our little trunk, but we were wrong. Surprisingly the stroller folds up small enough to put in my trunk and still leave me almost half my trunk. I am very happy about that. The car seat is just perfect. Im happy that its a matching set. It fits snug with the shoulder seat belt (we have a too old of a car to use the clip hooks). I couldn't be happier with this stroller set.

Honest reviews on Graco FastAction Fold Classic Connect DLX Travel System, Jacqueline

We bought our combo at Babies R Us trade in event. I love the car seat, it was very easy to adjust, install and carry. It's easy to clean, although we really didn't need to except a wipe down once in awhile. We did buy a padded insert for our daughter until she was at least 3 mos old. The padding isn't super but it's sufficient.

The stroller is great with the fast action feature. Talk about swift and easy to carry when you're done with it. We didn't use thie stroller much until she was too heavy to carry in the car seat but it's sooo nice to just plop the car seat in the stroller and go. The straps in the stroller are awesome! So flipping easy to get my daughter in and out. I highly recommend buying the strap pads though. The cargo carry area underneath the stroller is plentiful too. You can store a large diaper bag easily under there. It's not the smoothest ride (plastic wheels) but this isn't meant for hiking or 4x4'ing. I was going to sell the stroller to Once Upon a Child when we got our Bob jogger stroller but decided this is definitely worth keeping.

I can't say enough about this stoller-car seat combo. The fast action feature on the stroller seals the deal to make this a must buy. The only downfall that I saw was the lack of padding in the car seat and padding for the straps (very minor issues and easily resolved).

I am a mother of four. I am short and little. With every child i have gotten a new stroller. This stroller by far met my expectations! Its easy to unfold/fold/load and go. We get compliments ever where we go. Fabric washes up like new and is easy to take apart and put back together.my other strollers are price comparable to this one but this stroller is all around my favorite! Light but VERY sturdy, easy to function, cute pattern, priced just right what more could a small mother of four ask for!

My daughter loves this potty and it has made potty training so easy for us especially since she loves Minnie mouse :)

(This is actually DarkLock "KG~"'s wife.)

For those who don't have time to read a long review, I'll give a simple list of pros and cons.

Pros:

Padding

Handles

Protective pads provided (place on underside of potty to protect your toilet seat)

Pretty little chime (when button pressed)

Easily portable (compared to some other potty seats)

Good for round seats (only okay for elongated...)

Easier to clean than some padded seats

Cons:

quality (questionable)

May shift if used with elongated seat

Does not have any kind of lock (some potty seats can lock onto the toilet seat to insure stability/safety)

Harder/more time consuming to clean than hard seats

Now for the detailed review:

I was really looking forward to receiving this potty seat. The photo makes it look so beautiful.

The first thing I noticed when the potty arrived was the color. In the display photo, the seat looks a little more purple than the actual product. It is closer to the pink color of the handles; although there is purple in it (the castle and leaves are purple). It also looks more shiny and smooth in the picture. (I realize that the color may vary...and also that the shiny look probably had a lot to do with the lighting when the photograph was taken...but it was still surprising to me).

This was disappointing, but not a big deal, since I cared more about functionality than anything else. Which leads me to the next issue...

This particular one was damaged. The seam on the inner part of the seat was torn open (both in the front and the back. I was able to see what looked like cardboard and foam on the inside. I was very surprised to see this (I guess I usually have pretty good luck in avoiding damaged goods).

Even more disappointed now, I went online to find out how to return the item.

On a positive note, I had no problems with Amazon. The product arrived when expected and the return process was pretty much easy and stress free.

That really helped encourage me to try again. Even though the product wasn't as good as I expected, I read in a review that it worked with elongated toilet seats, and I was having the hardest time finding a padded potty seat with handles that fit elongated seats. So, needless to say, I really wanted this to work out.

Once I started the return process (actually more of an exchange...but it was called something else...), Amazon sent me another seat (even before I sent this one back)! Granted, I would be charged for both seats if I didn't return the first potty seat within 30 days...but that seemed reasonable to me.

When the second potty seat arrived, I was relieved to see that the seams were good. As for the song that plays when the button is pressed, it's more like a chime; just a short melody. I know a reviewer mentioned this and thought his seat may have been defective, but both of the ones I received were like this. Now to the last issue...

A different reviewer said this works with elongated seats. I guess that's true, as long as you're using a hard seat (like you're supposed to) and don't mind it shifting from front to back a bit. If your child hasn't had any previous negative experiences with the potty/a potty seat, this amount of movement might not be a problem. However, due to...experiences which I (and the instructions) was against...my daughter became afraid of using the potty.

(I was asked to use this on top of a padded toilet seat. Do not do this. It is unsafe/unstable. Every time I had to shift my daughter or she moved on her own, the seat moved. One time the seat ended up on the floor and my daughter's foot almost touched toilet water. Yuck! And sadly, during all the commotion, I unintentionally pressed the button. So after that, to my daughter, the pretty sounding melody actually became haunting. =(

On a side note: With a different potty seat, a toy and treats for incentives, she's doing much better. She'll walk to the potty herself when I ask her to and try to climb onto it on her own! Haha (she's tall for her age, but still only 15½ months...and we don't have a step stool for her, so you can imagine, for her to actually succeed in her efforts would be quite a feat.)

Anyways, since we would need to purchase a hard (elongated) toiled seat regardless...we found one that closes quietly and has a child seat attached (there is a magnet in the child seat and the lid of the toilet, so you don't have to worry about the child seat resting on your back. A definite plus! =))

It has no padding and no handles...but I don't ever have to worry about it moving around (and neither does my daughter).

I'll admit, my rating is influenced by my first experience (which may have just been a rare defective product), but overall I feel my rating is fair.

On another side note, I'll be keeping the (undamaged) First Years Disney Potty Seat so that when my daughter is further along with her training I'll have something to take with me for use in public washrooms. Most of them have hard seats and many are round...so I'm sure I'll get some use out of it then. In the meantime, it's hibernating in the closet. =)

Bought this after my son decided to wear his cheap one on his head, bless my child, and it got stuck and had to be cut off... he loves mickey mouse so i thought this would be great... He LOVES it... and has actually been trying to go to the potty again.... only thing I wish is that it said/sang more then "hip hip horray!"

I bought this is the store and the sounds are cool, but I noticed when I got it, the opening is smaller than a different potty seat we already had.

This one is cushier, and "cooler" looking, but my son has developed a sensitivity in his privates. And in the last day or two he refuses to sit on it.

I think it's because when you sit on it, or press down on it with your hand, you'll notice the plastic pushes into where the child's flesh would be.

So I think the plastic is rubbing against his tender flesh and hurting him. This thing is going back to the store! Not worth the money, or the potential pain it may cause your boy child.

Reviews of Baby Buddy 2 Pack Secure-A-Toy

Baby Buddy Secure-A-Toy, Pink/Lilac
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

These are great little straps. They aren't very long, but that is to help prevent strangulation hazards. They're perfect for attaching toys or teething rings to the stroller, car seat handle, etc. The snap is strong enough that a baby can't undo it. Each strap has multiple spots where you can fasten it, so you can make it shorter or longer.

I typically use BooginHead pacifier straps to attach toys, but at nearly $5 each that gets pricey. These Baby Buddy straps are much more economical for the purpose. They are actually made in the USA too, so that makes me feel better when the baby sticks them in her mouth.

Update: My daughter is 3 years old now, and we are still using our original set of these straps to attach her sippy cup, snack cup, etc to the stroller and car seat. Who would have thought that such an inexpensive product would be useful for so long? :)

These are great. Those Velcro or clip straps are only good until they figure out they can rip them right off. My boy is super strong but he can't get these snap straps off. Only wish they were a little longer, but that won't deter me from giving them 5 stars.

The length is perfect for attaching pacifiers (at least the kind with handles, like Avent) I just put the other end through the snap or button hole on his shirts.

I also love that they come two to a package, are inexpensive and come in a variety of colors. I highly recommend them. Wish I had gotten them earlier on instead of wasting money on the other straps that now just sit in a drawer.

Best Deals for Baby Buddy 2 Pack Secure-A-Toy

These little straps work well for keeping snack cups and sippy cups off the floor. I used these to replace links which my one year old could easily undo. There isn't much to them, just a strap and some snaps, so you could easily make your own. But why bother when these are so cheap?

Honest reviews on Baby Buddy 2 Pack Secure-A-Toy

Does your baby LOVE to play the "drop it on the floor and watch Mommy pick it up for me" game? You're right, it is fun to play but I don't want to play it when we're out shopping and I have to clean the toy every time it gets dropped on the floor. This band really helped keep toys attached. Just don't plan on using it to hold larger or heavier items because the strap won't hold it. Overall, great buy!

My baby is 7 months old and does not yet have teeth. Within a few hours of total use she managed to fray one end of the strap so that the snap could have ended up in her mouth. The snap has jagged edges under the nylon webbing and this could have been very bad if she had swallowed it. We keep a close eye on her but I never would have thought a simple strap like this could be dangerous. I will not be using the other 3 straps (I bought 2 packs)!.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This car seat is well padded and includes an extra removable insert of padding in the seat for maximum comfort

It's very sturdy, containing thick metal in key structural areas.

Once I did a dry run of all features, I found this to be an easy to use, convenient car seat.

The one and only aspect I don't like about the seat is the 'welt cord' trim that's at the neck line.

(like the trim on a sofa) it's very hard and will be very uncomfortable if a child isn't positioned just right.

I assume the manufacture expected this cord to be adjusted in the curve of the neck so it's not an issue.

SEAT PAD ~ The entire pad is removable from the plastic shell for cleaning.

Hand wash ~ air dry. (can not dry clean)

CUP HOLDER ~ Can be used on either side of seat.

The following 4 features took me a minute to figure out ~

~ 1. CHEST BUCKLE ~ There's nothing to press, to place chest clip mid-chest (even with armpits)

simply grasp the clip in it's center (thumb & index) and slide up / down the straps.

The button is only for opening the clip.

~ 2. UNBUCKLE HARNESS ~ I found the red button hard to press. Holding straps together with one hand

and pushing toward the buckle helps. When the button is pressed, the tongues sorta spring out.

~ 3. HARNESS RELEASE LEVER ~ Under flap. I first took this to be the plastic flange but it's not.

Just beyond that there's a metal lever that needs pushed straight forward & down.

~ 4. HEADREST HEIGHT ~ Loosen (by several inches) the 'harness release lever' (mentioned above) & the

'top anchorage strap' (center back of seat), then press both plastic headrest levers inwards towards each other,

pull up / down ~ for desired height. (Be sure the back metal bar is locked in a channel)

SIDE IMPACT TECHNOLOGY ~. This model features what 'Safety First' calls 'Air Protect side impact technology'

which is two step protection from violent side impacts.

The extra padding of these 'head muffs' are 2" thick & 7" in dia. which shields a child's head

and allows air to escape from the headrest, channeling the crash energy away from the child.

CRASH TRIVIA ~ Of crashes involving children 25% are side impact 33% of which are fatal -

nearly 100% of which are caused by head trauma.

INSTALLING IN AUTO ~ Two options, LATCH and VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (choose only one)

The LATCH system is preferred but can only be used in vehicles that have the LATCH anchors bars installed

and designated for LATCH seating. Most vehicles after Sept 2002 have the LATCH option.

If LATCH isn't an option ~~~ before you buy this car seat you may want to check your auto's owners manual

OR contact Dorel Juvenile Consumer Relations Dept to be sure your VEHICLE BELTS will work with this seat.

There are some vehicles that won't work with this child restraint seat, or will require extra steps.

INSTRUCTIONS ~ The instruction booklet is large print, with detailed illustration for each instruction.

It's 57 pages long, but the length is mainly do to lg print and spaciousness which is nice for notation.

42 pages are repeats of basic information, in accordance with various seat installations,

rear facing (must be fully reclined) forward facing (must be fully upright) LATCH or vehicle seat belt.

Completely in English, only.

PERTINENT INFORMATION ~ Basic, nut shell information is conveniently found on labels on back sides of seat.

TIP ~ Adjust all harnesses for a good fit for your child before installing in auto.

Place a single layered towel underneath & behind the child seat to protect it from damaging the auto's upholstery

A correct position for a child is determined by their height, weight and age.

Rear facing 5 point harness = 5 40 lbs & 19 40 inches tall & under one yr old.

Forward facing 5 point harness = 22 70 lbs & 34 -52 inches tall & over one yr old.

This seat is certified for use on aircraft, on forward facing seats.

The child restraint seat has an expiration date molded into the back side of the main plastic shell.

The one I received expires December 2021.

The seat I received is patented in USA & Canada ~ but imported by Dorel Juvenile Group, Columbus, Ind, from China.

One year warranty, but then can purchase replacement parts if needed.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I'll spring for a "Made in USA" product whenever the price, quality, and features are in the ballpark of the competitors. Though the online description states that this product is made in the US, the label on the physical item says "made in China" and the importer is out of Quebec. If the mislabeling issue isn't a deal-breaker, then the Air 70 is a good choice. Here are the PROS and CONS as I see them:

PROS

1. The instruction manual is pretty easy to follow (There aren't Spanish, Chinese, or French translations included in the booklet. Not saying it's good or bad, just unusual).

2. It has convenient stow points for the straps so everything is self-contained. This feature is handy if you take your car seat on airplanes or trains. [Just remember the seat weighs 18 pounds, so it is still no fun to carry around).

3. The "Mickey Mouse ears" that stick out of the sides guard against side impacts. Great if you get t-boned in a car accident.

4. The soft parts slip off the plastic frame. The removal/reinstall process doesn't look to be too hard, especially since unhooking the harness to free up the padding is a tool-free process.

5. The action on the tightening/loosening strap is good. The configuration is like a "y" so there is less fiddling when getting the chest straps centered on the child.

6. The action on the height adjustment is pretty good, though I had to read the directions to figure it out.

7. There is a detachable cup holder that mounts on either side and comes off easily if somebody is sitting next to the car seat.

CONS

1. Not "Made in the USA"

2. The side impact "Mickey Mouse ears" are not so great if your kid likes to look out the window.

The directions state that you can't recline the seat in the forward facing position. Seeing this big warning in the instruction manual makes me want to check my other car seat [a Britax model made in the USA] to see whether I missed something.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The safety 1st Complete is just that ... complete! You can get this car seat for a 5 lbs infant and use it until your child is 100 lbs! It is rear and front facing. The harness easily adjust to accommodate a growing baby.

It has latches for easy installation and removal so you do not need to fight with seat belts! But the latch system also ensure safety, since you can secure it well even if you need to remove it and reinstall it. It is reassuring to know that it is secure. The harness system is very good as well. The baby can be comfortably placed into he seat with a loose harness, and then you can tighten upon securing. The child is secure, but the extra cushion and head support system will ensure ultimately safety in a crash.

The fabric is soft, like a velour, but will wipe clean with a wipe or paper towel. This also comes with a cup holder! So your little can put their own cup away, or you can easily store a bottle of milk.

I really love this car seat. I think it is a great buy, since you only will need this one for your child's car seat needs! I highly recommend!!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having a 3 month old grandchild in the car can make this grandmother a bit nervous. But this car seat puts me at ease. My grandchild is secure, comfortable and safe in this well constructed car seat. Easily adjusts and installs into my car. It doesn't weight a ton either which I really love because it is easy for me to put in the car and remove. My previous car seat was a struggle, heavy, large and over restraining. My grandson cried every time I put him into it. Nothing more upsetting that a screaming baby while you are driving. However, this car seat is welcome by my grandchild who usually falls asleep in it shortly after we leave the house. What a relief, I highly recommend this car seat.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We've been using Britax's older style Marathons for five years so I was anxious to try this latest manifestation to see how it stacked up. It is larger, but it now fits children up to 70 lbs forward facing (and 5-40 rear facing) and still fits easily in our Honda Odyssey and forward facing in our small VW Golf. Like the older Britax models, the new Marathon is often outgrown by height, rather than weight. I sat both of our children in it and found the difference to be slight, if any, over the old model, so if you are in the market for a new seat for child outgrowing the shell, this is probably not the best choice.

The legendary Britax quality continues with a solid, intuitive build. Some of the newer head protecting technology from other, more expensive Britax seats has been integrated. The new harness adjuster is amazing, making it so simple and easy to change the height of the straps. We often carpool and I'm glad I can quickly and easily customize the seat to every child.

Britax seats are always soft and comfortable for riders, so much so that my children notice the difference when they ride in other seats! My four year old gave this her seal of approval comfort-wise, declaring the new design even better than her old one.

There are new spots to store latch clips when they are not in use that I love, most every change is a great improvement with the exception of the locking mechanisms for using a seat belt. They are MUCH harder to use than they were on the older model Marathons. I assume that they are also safer, but I had such a hard time with it, I could imagine parents using it incorrectly (and unsafely.)

The instructions are clear and easy to follow, but take advantage of seat checks in your area to make sure you install it correctly and as secure as it can be. Britax is an industry leader in safety and innovation, and I am glad my girls (at 4.5 and 6) are still riding safely in 5 point harnesses and protected by their Britax seats in the event of a crash.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Overall I feel that all car seats properly installed provide an extraordinary level of protection that we never had as children. So I have bought all sorts of car seats between 2 kids and 2 cars from snap-in travel systems to boosters, and from economy models to plush models. This is what I found that separates them convenience and materials.

The seats that cost less than $100 usually have little padding and are made from just enough plastic and foam as necessary. Pretty much all the adjustments are manual from shoulder height to anchor clips to strap length. The nice thing other than the price is that they are usually dead simple to install and very light.

The seats that cost more than $100 but less than $200 are usually very well padded and come with a lot of conveniences such as reclining, cup holders, mechanical strap adjustments, extra weight maximums. They're still usually plastic and foam, but a lot more of it. I do find that they can also be more difficult to work with, because with all their conveniences and padding the rare mechanical adjustments (installation and shoulder adjustments) are harder to perform. Also, I don't feel that seats I have in this class are any safer than my economy seats just more comfortable.

Now once we get over $200 we find ourselves in Britax Marathon 70 country... This is a very well appointed car seat in terms of comfortable padding, conveniences, and materials. You notice it's different once you see the steel beams supporting it, then as you use it and find the shoulder height can be adjusted without rethreading while installed (which is also a breeze), and that the recline doesn't require great force, and that there's Velcro to hold the straps back if you want it to and many other small touches... it's easy to start falling in love. Okay but that just brings me back to... Are we just buying the convenience or is there really something better about these seats? Well perhaps it's all really good marketing, but I now feel that this construction and these more rigid (yet designed to yield appropriately) materials are providing better safety and that the fact that you do not need to uninstall it to make adjustments also lowers the chance for a bad reinstall. So yes, I think that once you pass the $200 mark you actually can buy a safer seat. On the other hand this one doesn't come with cup holders ;).

Best Deals for Britax Marathon 70 Convertible Car Seat (Previous Version)

Britax is one of the most trusted car seat manufacturer's around. They have been making convertible car seats for the US market since 1997. Never satisfied, Britax continuously improves their products to make them safer, easier to use, and more comfortable. In August of 2010, they released their new line of convertible car seats with many improvements. Having been a Britax customer since 2007, I was excited to see the improvements they made.

My Configuration:

2000 Jetta 4DR

Forward Facing

LATCH Install

PROS:

Supports up to 70lbs forward-facing, and 5-40lbs rear-facing

Supports infants with an infant positioning insert (sold separately)

MUCH improved/easier harness height adjustment

New integrated steel bars

Serial number located in easy to find location

Harness buckle can now be in two positions

Comfort pads now removable

Super easy LATCH installation

Certified for air travel

Consistently rated Very Good by Consumer Reports (though this model has not yet been tested by CR)

CONS:

Expensive

On March 21, 2011, the American Academy of Pediatrics updated their recommendations for car seats. They now recommend that children stay in the rear-facing position until the age of 2, rather than their previous recommendation of 20lbs and 1 year of age. You can read the full press release and recommendations HERE. With these new recommendations, getting a car seat with better height and weight ratings become more important. Obviously the AAP recommendations are only recommendations and if your child exceeds the limits of the car seat, it's better to switch them to forward-facing even if not yet 2 years old. Put plainly, keep your child in the rear-facing position for as long as possible and resist the temptation to switch them too soon.

SAFETY

Safety is the most important feature of a car seat that I can think of. Year in and year out, Britax seems to garner very good ratings from professional publications and consumers alike. The Marathon 70 has many safety features that have given previous Marathon's a "Very Good" rating by Consumer Reports. As of this writing, Consumer Reports has not published any crash test results of the current Marathon 70.

The Marathon 70 has good side impact protection, though not the better "True Impact" protection that Britax's higher end convertible car seats have. The only difference between them is described as:

Minimize side to side head movement and literally "trues" the head:

Minimizing movement and keeping the neck and spine aligned limits potential injury. A abrupt, violent change in speed may cause injury to the body. By limiting the movement of your child during a crash, you are limiting potential injury.

The Marathon 70 however, does share the new integrated steel bars with their more expensive seats that "can minimize the risk of your child being violently propelled forward and hitting the back of the vehicle seat in front of the child restraint."

One thing that always stuck with me from the very first Britax we purchased was being told by the car seat techs at the police station and at AAA that they used Britax car seats for their own children. I'm not sure what better endorsement a car seat could get than that!

COMFORT

My children have always been pretty comfortable in Britax car seats. The seat cover material in the older Britax car seats were soft and plush but they changed the material to a more nylon like material on the Marathon 70. It looks much easier to clean but it doesn't have the nice soft feel as the older covers. The design of Britax seats tend to cradle your child and some larger children who prefer to place their arms out of the car seat or on the sides like an arm rest may find it somewhat uncomfortable. One complaint I'd read from a lot of users in the older Britax car seats was the placement of the harness buckle (crotch area). Britax must have been listening because they now provide two different positions to help find the best location for your child. Also, the harness straps have comfort pads for the shoulder area that are now removable. Some older Britax car seats had permanently attached comfort pads, which car seat techs I spoke with, recommended be removed. The pads, while providing additional comfort, can make it harder to determine the correct tightness of the harness, so unless your child is screaming bloody murder, I would probably remove them.

FIT

The Britax Marathon is smaller than the Boulevard and Advocate. We have the Boulevard and Advocate in our SUV but we elected to use the Marathon for our Volkswagen Jetta sedan. We had to remove the head rest but it fit well otherwise. It could be an optical illusion, but the new Marathon 70 seems smaller than the older Marathon. Still, if you own a small car and are considered tall or you like to recline your seat far back, you might want to buy the car seat from a retailer that has a good return/exchange policy, to make sure it will work for you. We now have a Marathon 65 CS and a Marathon 70 in our Jetta and we find the fit works well for us.

EASE OF USE

Though I haven't installed either Marathon with a seat belt, I have with our Advocate and Boulevard; they are a pain in the butt to install. Thankfully, our Jetta has LATCH connectors which made installing the Marathon 70 amazingly simple. Just clip the two LATCH connectors into the anchors in your car until you hear them click, then put all your body weight on the car seat (using your knees) and yank the straps as tight as you can. You can also use the Versa-Tether (the strap in the top rear of the car seat) and hook it to the anchor located in your car (see your automobile's manual). Installation took me no more than 10 minutes and adjusting the buckles and straps took another few minutes. I recommend you read through the entire manual AND watch the installation video. The video for the Marathon 70 can be viewed HERE.

The one major problem I had with the old Marathon was that adjusting the harness height required me to remove the car seat then rethread the straps. I feel like Britax read my review and custom-made the new Marathon just for us! They implemented a new system that allows you to just squeeze the handle located at the top of the car seat and glide it up or down to adjust it; no rethreading required! There is one drawback to this system though. At the highest harness height, the mechanism rises with it so it can potentially obstruct viewing out of the rear window. The best harness height system I've ever seen was from a competitor's car seat that used a rotating knob located on the sides of the seat. Keep in mind that in the forward-facing position, you want the harness to be at or above your child's shoulders. In the rear-facing position, you want the harness to be below your child's shoulders.

MISC

The serial number sticker is easily located on the right side (facing the seat), towards the top. The serial number stickers on some of their older car seats were rather difficult to find so I'm glad Britax addressed this.

I always found washing the cover to be a hassle on our Boulevard seat and I admit that I haven't washed the cover on our Advocate or our first Marathon. The cover on the Marathon 70 is easier to remove than my older Boulevard but it's still recommended that you hand wash the cover with cold water and mild soap, then line dry it. Unfortunately, this means that you have to wash the cover when you know you won't need the car seat for at least a few hours as the cover can take a while to dry. With the new material though, daily or weekly cleanups should be easier with only the biggest messes requiring the removal of the cover. The cover comes in several different colors and designs to match your style preference.

CONCLUSION

Britax convertible car seats have advanced safety features and are consistently rated among the best. The Marathon 70 is a good choice for smaller vehicles. Britax has also made the Marathon 70 easier to use than ever before and increased the forward-facing weight rating to 70lbs. The latest Marathon is a definite improvement over previous generations and I recommend it if you can justify the cost premium.

Honest reviews on Britax Marathon 70 Convertible Car Seat (Previous Version)

I have used Britax Marathons for over six years and have recommended them to anyone who's asked-they are simple to install, comfortable, safe and easy to use. After a recent car accident, I began to look for a replacement Marathon for my three-year old son, but had a hard time finding the model I was familiar with. The owners of my local baby store told me about all the new features of the Marathon 70, so I decided to try it out. After getting it home and having my son try it out in the living room, I've decided to return it and search out the original design.

CONS:

I think it would be a great car seat for an infant or smaller child, but my son is 40 lbs and 40 inches tall and I had a very difficult time buckling the seat belts with him sitting in the seat. For some reason, it seemed like the buckle was placed farther back in the seat or maybe the strap on the buckle is shorter, so once buckled in, he was practically sitting on the hard, plastic buckle. Even with the straps adjusted to their longest length, the buckle was still uncomfortably pressing into my child. I cannot imagine a 70lb child sitting in this chair comfortably. Another thing that I am not a fan of is the two-piece cover. The old model's cover was just one piece and really easy to remove for washing. The Marathon 70 has two to three pieces (depending on if you use the extra cushion that comes with it) and plastic clips that hold it on to the frame. For me, the more pieces to remove and wash, the more inconvenient.

PROS:

I do love the easier strap adjustment system. It is was really easy to push a button and move the headrest/straps to the right position. I also liked the extra cushioning. It seems like it would be really comfortable and soft.

I had a Marathon 65 and was just in a horrible accident with my 2 year old son in the car. A car ran a red light and T-boned us right in front of my driver door going about 50mph. My son was forward-facing on the passenger side. I had the seat latched and tethered and the chest clip was secure at his chest. We spun and were hit again on the back. I tell you this because we walked away. My Marathon never moved. He was very safe. I know this seat is safe if installed properly. I bought the 70 since once they are in an accident they are not safe.

I hope you all use the weight and height limits for your children and delay booster seats and use the 5-point harness until your child is out of it due to height or weight. It can possibly save them in an accident like this one. I recommend this seat based on my experience and love this new one!

We have Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant SIP car seat manufactured in 2009, and a Bugaboo Frog stroller. Now, I was confused as to which adapter I needed to purchase because there seemed to be several different Bugaboo-Peg Perego car seat adapters on Amazon, and according to some reviews, they didn't fit. I thought I would purchase this and see what happens. Although this is described as Bugaboo Cameleon car seat adaptor, it works for all bugaboos (cameleon, gecko and frog) and it does work on Peg Perego SIP infant seats manufactured after 2007, just like the product descrption reads. I was concerned intially because when I got this package, it says in the plastic wrap that it will work with Peg Perego Viaggio SIP only if the car seat is manufactured before March 2007. But when we did try it on our car seat made in 2009, it did fit perfectly. So I am not sure if there was an error in the package or not. I don't know if this works for Peg Perego manufactured before March 2007 since we have never tried it.

JUST BE CAREFULE WHEN ORDERING THESE BUGABOO PEG PEREGO CAR SEAT ADAPTERS THAT IF YOU HAVE A CAR SEAT NEWER THAN 2006 YOU NEED THE BRAND NEW ADAPTORS FROM BUGABOO,PEG PEREGO CHANGES THEIR CAR SEATS OFTEN AND THESE LITTLE TWEEKS MAKE THE OLD ADAPTERS UNUSABLE, SO BUGABOO IS ALWAYS UPDATING THE ADAPTERS. I ORDERED TWICE FROM SELLERS ON AMAZON WITH CLAIMS THAT THE ADAPTERS WERE NEW WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE NOT AND INDEED DID NOT FIT MY 2010 PEG PEREGO CAR SEAT. ITS VERY FRUSTRATING PUTTING BABY STUFF TOGETHER EVEN WHEN IT GOES WELL, WHEN TRYING TO FIT PARTS TOGETHER THAT THE SELLERS SAY ARE CORRECT WHEN THEY ARE NOT IS BEYOND TIME CONSUMING AND IRRITATING. IF YOU HAVE A BUGABOO, CONTACT BUGABOO DIRECTLY VIA THEIR WEBSITE AND THEY WILL EMAIL YOU A CORRECT PHOTO OF THE THE ADAPTERS NEEDED FOR YOUR PRAM AND CAR SEAT. SAVE TIME AND TRIPS TO THE POST OFFICE RETURNING UNUSABLE ADAPTERS BY CHECKING OUT THE CORRECT PARTS FIRST. :)

Along with the previous review, I almost returned this as the packaging says it is for 2007 and older models. After giving it a shot, it does work with our 2010 seat.

Honest reviews on Bugaboo Cameleon Adapter for Select Peg Perego Car Seats

This things are horribly designed! Basically, there are two ways you can use them:

1) Remove the car seat, somehow suspend the car seat in the air with one hand, while installing each one onto the car seat with your other hand, then place it into place on the Bugaboo, or;

2) Remove the car seat, and with the adapters already on the Bugaboo, somehow perfectly align BOTH adapters so that the "forked" ends line up with their corresponding slots in the car seat.

Either way is extremely impractical! I just want to remove the car seat and simply place it direct down onto the Bugaboo without an complications. And these adapters are NOT the answer.

You cannot have these adapters on the car seat when placed in the car on the base. If that were the case, I would've kept these, since placing the car seat onto the stroller with the adapters already on the car seat is pretty easy. But that means you have to put them one individually as detailed in option 1 above.

Your other option then is to place them on the stroller first, which is easy. But then comes the impossible part. Trying to place the car seat onto these adapters exactly where they need to be.

I even had 2 sales people at a local retailer try and they admitted that it was very difficult.

Anyway, I was so fed up with these adapters, I ended up buying a completely new car seat (the Graco SnugRide) and the corresponding adapter for the Bugaboo. And let me tell you, it's how it should be. I remove the Graco car seat from the base and just plop it right onto the adapter on the Bugaboo. Just like that. Easy.

Take a look at the Graco adapter and you'll see why. Because it mimics the car seat base. And these Peg adapters should've been like those too.

In short, I hated these things...

People have said that these do not fit their carseat but they fit my peg perego 2010 just fine. Not much else to say about these. Basically, they fit, they work, I can now attach my carseat to my bugaboo. Yay. :-)

My 4-yr.-old daughter loves this booster. She thinks the colors are cool and is able to buckle her seat belt on her own. It places the seat belt correctly on her. Comfortable.

We do need to replace it because we need to install three car seats in the back of a Toyota Camry (including the booster for our 4-yr.-old) and this one, with its arm rests, is too wide to fit. But, if space is not an issue for you this is a great booster seat! We recommend it.

Very cute and comfy. I use this as a booster seat for my daughter at the dinner table right now (she's 3) and I will use it as her car seat once she's bigger.

This booster is very dangerous for kids. The base of the booster is narrow, and the sides come out in a v shape which makes this booster very unstable. Just with my kid leaning to the side the booster falls over. Can you imagine if you turn a sharp sudden turn, your kid would probably fall right off. Also since its so unstable if your kid is just learning to buckle themselves in the seat just falls over, which you can imagine causes lots of screaming and breakdowns. For the same price you can get this booster from Graco which has a flat base on it. It is much safer!

Here is a link for the Graco Booster. They sell these at wal mart to, if you do not want to wait for it to come in the mail.
