I bought this seat in April 2013. Mine is marked as manufactured in Nov 2012 with an expiration date of Nov 2018. I picked it because the Embrace 35 is rated well by Consumer Reports and I was hoping it would fit on my Evenflo Aura Embrace stroller from the last kiddo (it does). I also liked that it was lighter weight than some others--babies get heavy in these things! :) The color is perfect for us and the latch clips are the best kind...
Pros:
Embrace 35 rated Very Good and a CR Best Buy (Deluxe version would probably rate even higher with upgraded latch clips, etc.)
Super-convenient latch clips (push-button buckles)
Lightweight for carrying, but still feels sturdy
Padding washer-safe and easy clean
All straps easily adjusted
Includes pillow, so no additional support needed for newborn
Includes shade (that stays in place easily!)
Nice color
Cons:
Doesn't have zig-zag handle for more convenient carrying angle (although a pro if you consider space saved in the car)
Our last infant seat had a handle that was turned lengthwise where you hold it. We thought that was a little strange at the time, and it certainly took up more space when you lowered it for driving in the car, BUT now I see how convenient it was for carrying. (You can see the type of handle I'm talking about if you search "Evenflo Aura" or a similar style, "Evenflo Discovery 5".)
You do have to get used to the harness buckle--it is difficult to snap until you get the hang of it--but now I actually like that feature, because you know for sure when it is buckled and when it is not.
Overall I'm completely satisfied with this seat. I paid about $100 and it is on sale for less right now. Seems like a good deal. Feel free to send questions if you have them--I might not have covered everything here. And BTW, we love, love, love the Britax Boulevard for the next seat up--we have a Marathon and a Boulevard for our 2 year old, and we'll be getting more Boulevards when the youngest "graduates" from the Evenflo Embrace.
