I am a mom of 4 kids so we've have a bunch of carseats! I absolutely love this carseat and so does my 11-month-old. I bought the Britax (two different kinds including the one with the side impact wings) sent both of them back immediately! I have a Graco 3-in-1 for my 5-year-old daughter had this since she was 2! I certainly love the graco family of carseats! The padding in the Smart Seat all-in-one is super soft and plush and my son has room to grow! The armrest gets in the way sometimes, but all you have to do is pull up on it and it unlocks and moves so you can get your child out easily! We have very long drives (over 3 hrs.) to my in-laws house and my son has never made a peep (we've traveled there 3 times so far with this seat)! My husband has commented on how our youngest son has the best seat in the vehicle! Thank You Graco for making a wonderful carseat from baby to elementary kids!

I bought this car seat thinking it would really save money in the long run since it grows with the baby. Love that idea. Great feeling fabic (very soft) and great design. But it didn't fit in my 2 door VW, well it would but not with my 6' tall husband in the front seat. So I'm on the hunt yet again.

We got this seat before our daughter turned one because she was quickly outgrowing her infant car seat. The Smart Seat was new when we purchased it and we took a risk without having many other reviews to look at, but it definitely paid off.

Pros:

Secure there was never any doubt that this is extremely safe.

Comfortable our daughter has loved sitting both rear and forward facing

Great instruction manual so detailed with pictures.

Cons:

Bulky It was really hard to get it in my Jetta when it was rear facing, but we managed. Definitely a beast of a seat though.

Heavy I could remove it and the base to put both into a different car, but it was a struggle.

Can get stained/messy I have yet to try and clean the upholstery, but it does stain easily.

Arm rests somewhat awkward, but you get used to them.

Overall, we are VERY glad with the purchase. The fact that it will be with us until our child reaches 100lbs is worth every penny.
