We were a bit skeptical of this, as it was the cheapest seat of this type we could find on Amazon. We bought it because we live outside the US and were coming to the US to visit family. Figured for roughly $50, it was worth it to use it only for the few weeks we'd be visiting and then leave it for next year's US trip. What we found was it's a more comfortable, more practical, better looking, easier-to-clean seat than the two we have at home that cost twice the price. Don't be scared away by its low price; this is an excellent seat.

I bought this car seat for my son who was 3 years old at the time. Originally we were pleased with the seat but over a period of time we noticed that there is quite a hard ridge inside the seat behind the lower back portion of the seat that even with the cover on, it could be felt through the seat. Over time a period of about 6 months our son developed a contact/friction lump on his back on his spine which as per our pediatrician and a spinal specialist visit, was caused by this seat. It was noted that each time our son exited the seat he had a red rub spot on his back and it was in direct relation to this problem within the seat. We have in due course stopped using this seat and this problem has gone away within a matter of weeks. We don't feel like we can recommend this seat to anyone else and we don't want any other parent to go through what we did, as originally our doctor was seriously concerned about the visible bump on our son's back. As such I have given this seat 1 star.

Bought this as a seat in our second car. It's used rarely so it's fine for that. It has very little padding so I wouldn't want to use it on long trips or as a daily seat. Perfect for what it is, a low cost secondary seat.

I bought this car seat for my 3 1/2 year old. He moved from a Britax convertible to this car seat. The Evenflo feels cheaply made by far in comparison. The padding is thin, the straps are thin and the harness clips are constantly getting turned/twisted on the straps. After just a few months of use, the straps are showing wear. He was in his Britax for 3 1/2 years and now his little sister is in it....and you can't see any wear on the straps. The cup holder isn't level so cups fall out easily. It's also difficult to put on. My son used to sleep in his carseat, but in this one he starts complaining if a car ride is even moderately long that he's uncomfortable. The crotch latch also require MUCH more pressure than I'm used to. The Britax wasn't easy to get out of, my son still couldn't do it, but at least I could! I'm not impressed. We're making this a backup and buying a new one.
