Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is a really nice starter set for someone who plans to bottlefeed. The bottles are well-made and BPA free, and they don't leak. You also get a very nice brush (very soft, so it doesn't scratch the plastic), a snack/formula powder cup, a handle and top to transform the bottles into sippy cups later, and a pacifier. With their wide mouths, these bottles are easy to wash, and I also think a wider nipple helps prevent nipple confusion in breast-fed babies. (This is just anecdotal, but it's held true for me with my kids.) I wasn't wild about the pacifier, as it was a bit too heavy for my daughter to easily keep in her mouth; she seems to like the MAM Start Orthodontic Silicone Pacifier best. Then again, she's only 4 1/2 weeks old, so the same may not be true of an older baby! However, I generally recommend that (at least for babies who are breastfeeding), you buy just one bottle at a time and see how your baby likes it, and then buy a set later if your baby is amenable, because two of my three have been very particular about what kind of bottles they'll take. My daughter (who has just started using a bottle) doesn't seem wild about the Avent bottles. She seems to much prefer the Playtex Drop-Ins. I don't know if she prefers the Playtex nipple (it wasn't interchangeable with the Avent bottles) or if she prefers something about the drop-in liner.
Incidentally, if you have a non-Avent breast pump (like the Medela Pump in Style and store your milk in bottles, you'll have to pump into a different, narrow bottle and then transfer the milk into -thesebottles, or else purchase an adapter, like the Philips Avent Standard Breast Pump Conversion Kit.

My daughter (now 7 months old) has been using these bottles since she was born, and we've never had any problems with them. We've always washed them by hand, and have only had the occasional leaking issue, usually caused by the coupler being on too tight.Honest reviews on Philips AVENT BPA Free Classic Infant Starter Gift Set
We bought the set as any naieve new parents would based on the amazon reviews. Unfortunately, the bottles started leaking after only 2 and a half weeks. This is NOT fun when your baby is colicky at 2:07am and you lose a third of the milk your wife pumped for half an hour to collect. I am NOT impressed.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Philips AVENT BPA Free Classic Infant Starter Gift Set
So, we purchased this kit to supplement the bottles we had left over from our first kid. Three years ago we purchased the Avent bottles because they were quality plastic made in England, not China. They worked great and were our go to bottles after we found the mouths and size of the Medela bottles to be akward. This time around we purchased the kit. Please not that it comes with small heads and you can get the high flow nipples here as an add on much cheaper than in the store. The kit is a great starter package but is not as good as the original design. Not sure why they changed it but, the neck of the bottle now needs a ring around it. More stuff to wash and loose. As you can see in the photos, the original bottle (left) has a tall neck and the new one stops at the treads and needs an insert to maintain a seal.
The new bottles leaked all over 'till we figured out that you NEED TO SEAT THE SMALL RING INTO THE HEAD AND NIPPLE OF THE BOTTLE. If you put the small ring on the bottle and then screw on the head and nipple, it will leak all over you and yours!
Overall, this kit and it's contents are good but the original bottle was better and we never had a problem with leaks. Now, we have to be careful to seat the new ring in properly and hope that it was installed right or end up cleaning up the mess. We also have to be careful not to loose the rings while washing and storing them. It's just one more thing parents don't need to deal with when their full attention is on their kids!
I thought this might help others that get this product and find it frustrating that your bottles leak! It's not faulty, just tricky and over engineered like a Mercedes!
Good luck!
