operates like the other Chicco Keyfit seats, not too heavy and easy to get seat out of baseone handle behind the headrest lifts the seat out, this new color palette is nice and neutral, the grey color is actually more silver in person giving it kind of a modern appearance, nice that it comes with the boot cover that snaps over the frontnot sure this is a standard feature with the other color palettes, overall happy with purchase

Like all the other parents, I did my research and found this car seat to be top rated. I am very happy with my purchase and feel safe placing my child in the car seat, receiving reassurance from the police officer who taught me how to properly install it that I had made a wise decision. My purchase included the travel system (with stoller). I would recommend getting the stroller frame/caddy instead. It is much smaller and lighter, and takes up less space. I did purchase a Bokoo cover (after market product) to keep the actual fabric of the Chicco seat clean should this be passed down to another child.

Cons: It does not have "cut outs" at the bottom of the seat to place in a shopping cart. The only safe way to place this in a shopping cart is in the large basket portion, which is not that handy if you plan on purchasing any large item, or a large quantity of items. Additionally, the sun shade does not provide very much protection. I just cover with a light blanket.

I have, and will continue to recommend to new parents.

I researched car seats until I could not read another review. We finally landed on the Chicco Keyfit 30. We have been using this seat for 9 months.

Pros:

+ The seat is comfortable. She will sleep in it for hours while in the car. We actually took a 7 hour drive to see our relatives over Christmas and she would sleep for 3 hour stretches.

+ We have washed the fabric in the washing machine (HE front loading) several times and let it air dry. We have not had any issues putting it back on the seat.

+ Getting it in and out of the base is not too difficult. We have 3 bases.

+ The seat makes me feel as though she is safe. She is 20 pounds and 28 inches now. Her feet are hanging out of it.

+ The seat rocks when placed on a surface like the floor. I can put my foot on it and rock her back and forth.

+ We like the gray color

+ We purchased the chicco key-fit caddy $99 Chicco Keyfit Caddy Stroller Frame. It is very simple and we like it. We did not need a travel system.

Cons:

The sun visor does not come down far enough. It needs to be longer. We live in Orlando and it is hard to get a small blanket to stay up on the top of it to block the sun.

You have to place the entire seat in the basket of the shopping cart. This takes up a lot of room. But, you will purchase less..LOL.
