We purchased the Maxi Cosi about 8 weeks ago, and we couldn't be happier. First of all, I'll note that this was the product of tons of research. My family including the extended family friend who purchased me two *alternative* seats which I returned, think I'm nuts. But, I really wanted safety and convenience, and with a common-use item like this it seemed worth the effort.

So, why this seat? What I love:

1> Safety features. The airbags by the head, the strapping, the overall "fit" of the restraints. Everything seems designed as a no-compromise fit for safety. I look at my little kids in these seats and I feel good as a Dad that I've put their safety first. This is both a feature thing, and a snugness of fit thing.

2> Build quality. I picked up and trialled the other seats. They didn't have the same sturdiness of build. On the downside, this seat weighs a bit more ... But jeez, isn't that a good thing? Until they start using titanium and we start wanting to pay for it I'm happy to pull a few extra pounds for this kind of feel.

3> Comfort. I can't be sure of this, as my kids don't talk to me ... But they seem just fine. I put them in, and they pretty quickly fall asleep. I've left them in the seats for extended periods, no problem. Now, they are each about 6.5 pounds at this time, and started out closer to 5.5 pounds, so I haven't taken this up to the heavier infant stage.

4> Compatibility with my Baby Jogger City Stroller. I did see a few other comments above w/r/t stroller compatibility. I'm not sure what they pertain to ... But I can say this seems to work beautifully with my City Stroller. We've been out and about. And I've tested the latches on the lock / click mechanism. I'm using the same adapter I would have used for a Chicco, and it works great.

5> Ease of use. I think most of the seats are pretty good here. But it's definitely worth noting, these guys are champs in / out of the car and the City Stroller. It's not a safety issue, but sometimes you want to make things go quickly and your little ones are not going to understand it if you have a project of it. I'll also give a +1 for simplicity ... I don't usually read instructions too closely, and thankfully this set had clear instructions and a simple model for operation.

And, yes, as many have mentioned, it is the best looking car seat. We like that, but I think each of us were more swayed by the features above than anything else. As for cons ... None of them match up to the pro's, but it is worth mentioning:

1> The seat straps can feel a bit tight with the way they lie. We've fiddled with adjusting the strap loosener and this seems to work fine. And, neither of our kids sweat or seem to mind they look very comfortable.

2> The seat-belt release by the crotch takes a bit more pressure than I'd like. I'm getting used to it, and the kids never seem to mind, but it would be nice perhaps if the button were larger / a bit deeper allowing for the depth (rather than resistance) to offer the security that the latch stays put (more like a regular car seatbelt)

3> The sun shield is somewhat useful, but honestly we've had to use an additional sun blanket when we really want shade as it seems to fall a bit short of anything but mid-day (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) sun.

Overall, I'm really pleased with this purchase, and highly recommend the product to others based on my experience so far.

I like the best of best so I figured this was the best of the best. WRONG. Here is why and I'll be brief because I'm doing this review from my phone as I look at the horrible red pressing marks on my 3 day old sons little thighs.

I read the reviews after I bought this and installed it and got nervous after reading so many reviews about how tight and uncomfortable this is for the baby but they are all correct.

First the tech at the hospital that walked with us outside to put our baby in the car when my wife was released immediately saw the seat and said "oh boy, you guys will be returning this, this seat hurts babies"! It took the tech about 10 minutes to get our baby in. He cried for a bit then stopped so we figured the seat was fine. This AM we had a docs appointment and it was time for us to put him in the seat. Our baby is 8.0lbs, 19 inches and I pretty much had to smoosh and stuff our little babies legs and arms into the harness. He cried louder than ever and the straps dug into his thighs creating these horrible red marks that im looking at now. We tried to get him in the seat as perfect as possible so we are positive the seat and harness are just to small.

The seat looks great and the Quinny stroller also looks great but I'm taking this thing back today. I'm 6'1 and 260lbs, so I'm not a small guy but this car seat is heavy, 10+ lbs for the seat and almost 20+ lbs all together with baby. My wife is 5'4 and 115lbs so I think she may have some issues moving this in and out of the SUV on her own.

Also...anyone that says this car seat fits their baby great and is lightweight is obvoisuly either being paid by the company to write a fake review or doesn't have the straps on the baby.

Remember, our baby is under 9 lbs and barley fits into this seat and the company says it fits up to 30 lbs, yeah RIGHT!

AVOID this seat if your babies comfort is important. I don't buy that the baby has to be in pain in order to be safe and secure.

I pre ordered Maxi Cosi Prezi in August , got it in the end of September. I like it so far, though for my big baby it's a bit too snug, but I guess that's more of a protection. Here are my observations, but even though there are more cons, they all minor, except maybe the car seat base, but the big "pro" is that the seat has a lot of safety features and protection, and in the end, that's all that really matters in a car seat.

Pros:

1) Safety combined with coolnessrace car engineers were involved in designing this after all!

2) unique car seat

Cons:

1) Heavy. It weighs 11 poundscombine that with 13 lb babynot an easy load to carry.

2) Alll that protection is great, but it also means that baby gets super sweaty. My son's back is always soaking wet ,after being in the car even for 10-15 minutes . Maybe that's why he dislikes being in the seat so much.

3) the car seat base wiggles a lot, maybe there is a trick to it, but so far I found that it sits sturdier without the base.

4) I wish the canopy extended further, most of the time the sun hits my baby right in the eyes and that could easily be avoided with an extra 5 inches of canopy.

I bought Quinny Senzz to use a a travel system with this car seat, but it ended up sitting too upright, without the possibility to adjust the angle. I just put my 6 weeks old in the stroller itself, the recline is better than it is in the car seat ( when used with the stroller)

Overall, I like the car seat, the padding is soft, and the seat is very nice . I recommend it.

Honest reviews on Maxi Cosi Prezi Infant Car Seat, Devoted Black

My son is 2 months old and 12 lb, he has been riding in this car seat since the second day of his life and he seems to enjoy it. There are many ways to adjust it for the right fit. Yes, this car seat looks great. It has lots of padding, the material is cottony and very soft. We bought Quinny Buzz stroller, that comes with an adapter for maxi-cosi car seats, and this combo works great for shopping and running errands. Yes, it is a little bit heavy. And car seat with the base takes a lot of space on the back of the car, so there is not too much leg room left for the person in the front.
