I purchased this for my new grandson's visit. His parents have a Quinny stroller and this made his ride to and from the airport secure and safe.All they had to do was pop his seat/car seat out of the stroller and pop it into the base. What a great idea. Didn't have things like that 30 years ago when I had children!!
Best Deals for Mico Car Seat Base
While this base isn't mandatory (I think?) for the Maxi Cosi Mico infant seat, it has made our lives so much easier when transporting our little guy. I can't imagine having to fumble with a seat belt everytime we take him somewhere in the car. The seat pops so easily onto the base, and while the release lever can be sticky once in a while, it only takes a second to release it. We have one in each of our cars, and my mom also has one in hers. For the price, it's worth it!Honest reviews on Mico Car Seat Base
We did not originally buy an extra base thinking that we would just transfer the base from car to car. Well, once you get the base in it is snug and you don't want to move it. It took a little while to get the base in as tight and secure as I wanted, but once it was in it doesn't move.Strongly recommend getting one for each car!
Only con I wish the bases worked with all Maxi Cosi car seats... we are going to have to get another extra base for the toddler car seat!

I bought the carrier before I realized the base had been recalled. I called Maxi-Cosi and they sent me a new base. Well, it seems they just send you another of the same and not a good functioning product. The new one I use clicks before the seat is completely in. Sometime it takes lots of manipulation to get the back to lock in the carrier. I think safety is still a concern with this product.I have to make sure it is well locked in every time which is not great when you are in a hurry.
