I have two toddlers and we were taking a long trip. I had the original gogobabyz which I used with my oldest child when he was a toddler but it didn't fit my new larger britax seat, so I bought this britax cart, thinking it would be better because it was made by the company. On taking it out of the box, it looked like a "dolly" you would use to carry boxes. The latch attachments clip to these rectangular fixtures on the base and it sits a bit high off the ground (several inches). It felt a little unstable despite the fact that the seat was secured we'll to the cart. The issue seems to be the center of gravity being higher. Also when taking my child on a little test run around the house, when we rounded the bend into the kitchen, the latch attachments shifted to the side of the rectangular attachments and the whole seat tipped over. I figured I needed to install it like in the car, with more pressure. So I decided to tryit on the trip anyway.
Meanwhile, I emailed gogo babyz to see if they had a kit to make my old travelmate fit one of my kids marathon car seats. They did not have a retrofitting kit so they sent me a new travelmate that would fit my larger britax car seat this is 6 years after I bought the original travelmate! That is some seriously unusual customer service! The car seat I installed quickly and felt very secure. It sits right on the floor and is quite stable. I loved the original and found this newer versionn even more secure and easier to install.
So off we went, with both kids in their car seats, one on the britax cart and the other on the gogobabyz. The britax cart tipped over repeatedly, injuring my son (however mildly), and terrifying my husband and me. the gogobabyz has larger wheels and a smoother ride. It corners like a porche. It does not tip. Clearly the britax engineers could learn something from the little company that invented the travelmate.
I sent the britax cart back and bought another gogobabyz travelmate. Go-Go Babyz Kidz Travelmate

One of the reasons I prefer Britax is because of the superior safety of their seats. But that superior safety has a price the seats are much bulkier and heavier than cheaper ones. This makes hauling them through the airport on a trip very difficult. When my children were young, I had to purchase a second lightweight cheap seat for travel, which sacrificed their safety when we were on the road during our travels.I bought this as a gift for my sister-in-law. Its a godsend. We've traveled together and its made getting the carseat through security and to the gate so much easier. Once on the plane, it just folds right up and fits in the overhead bin. I wish I had one of these when my kids were little! If you plan on traveling with your carseat, this is a must. Also, if you plan to gate check the seat definitely get a cover we've had car seats come back soaking wet from being left on the tarmac in the pouring rain!

We have a Britax Boulevard 70 CS and the 3G version. I can't tell you how many people stop us in the airport and ask us where we got such a contraption. This makes traveling with any tyke, especially if you're traveling solo, easy and bearable. My daughter sits in car seat, which clicks into the travel cart with the latch clips, from curbside to the security line. Then we carry her through security and ask the guards to hand check the carseat (while attached to the cart) so that we don't have to unhook the carseat. Then she happily gets back into the carseat until she's on the plane (the carseat attached to the cart are narrow enough to fit and be wheeled down the isle on the airplane). Then the carseat gets unhooked from the cart and belted into the seat on the airplane and the travel cart folds up easily and is stowed above in the overhead bin.Honest reviews on Britax Car Seat Travel Cart, Black
Initially, I hesitated when buying this product based on the mixed reviews seen here on Amazon. I can 100% say for certain that I am absolutely happy that I went ahead and purchased this product. We have completed many flights with our young son, and as you are all probably aware once your child turns two you must purchase a seat for him/her. His first flight in his own seat was a struggle, we did not use a car seat and decided to try a harness instead. No bribe would even make him consider trying the harness, he hated it. So we settled for the plain old seatbelt, which I was not comfortable with because he really wasn't secure. The next problem with this situation is that he could not get comfortable enough to fall asleep, so he kept wanting to crawl in my lap or stand up in the seat and look out the window. Not good options.
After some research, I decided to purchase this travel cart for our next and longer flight. My husband was very hesitant at first, and mainly because the car seat is so bulky (Britax Advocate70), and we weren't sure how he would react to the car seat as his seat on a plane. If he hated it and screamed like a banshee there were really no other options besides strap him in and try to distract him. So my husband and I worked through the logistics of using the travel cart and car seat. We made sure before hand that we knew how to attach the seat to the cart as well as how to fold up the cart and store it. Also of importance, be sure you know how to install your seat with the airplane buckle BEFORE your flight. We went through the car seat owners manual on installation and came armed with the manual as well as airline policy (just in case).
I had read on other reviews that the Britax car seat would be too bulky to wheel down the aisle of an airplane and this is an absolute TRUTH. My husband had to lift the car seat above the other seats to get it down the aisle to our row. That I would say is the only downfall, but really there isn't a lot that fits nicely down the aisle of an airplane. So it is do-able, just a bit of a pain. As for going through security, at DIA we had issues getting the car seat through the x-ray machine, so they just hand-wanded it for us. On the way back, the TSA agent showed us how to position the car seat with the cart attached so it would fit through the scanner (lie it on the side, not on the back).
All in all though, the travel cart was a HUGE success. My son *loved* being toted around the airport in his special seat, it was easy to maneuver (of course, no hairpin turns or precision driving but good lord folks it's a travel cart, not a BMW). So in reality, this design replaced our need for a stroller in the airport. We had zero issues of the car seat "falling off" the cart. Important tip here, tighten the latch straps down so the car seat is more stable. While getting on the plane, my husband would take off the cart once we arrived at our row. It took 3 seconds, and he folded it up in one movement and placed it in the overhead compartment. And the use of the car seat on the plane was extremely successful. My son was excited to get in the seat, hopped right in, let me buckle him up with no complaint, and was so happy because he could see out the window fairly easily now. And once the plane started moving, he was able to comfortably fall asleep. What a difference!
I highly recommend this product if you are considering car seat use on a plane, it really simplified our travel experience!
