This is the 3rd mirror we tried and this will be the last. As our rear facing car seat is placed in the middle of the back seat there is no headrest. The other mirrors (Brica) we tried were "apparently" supposed to be able to install without a headrest but they did not work out in the slightest. Both fell over within minutes. Fast forward through dozens of failed attempts later to get them to stay up and then we found this one on Amazon. It straps to the adjacent headrest (with two buckle straps) and pivots which ever way you need it to. You can also adjust the angle for which ever way you need as well. It has never fallen down or off but every two weeks or so I give the straps a quick pull to ensure they are secure. This mirror has worked in the following cars for us thus far:

'06 Hyundai Sonata

'07 Hyundai Santa Fe

'08 Ford F150

'11 Chevy Equinox

Hope this helps!

I've used the Brica/SafeFit Baby In Sight Mega Mirror for the past 20 months to view my rear-facing daughter, and I've been pretty happy with it. Since I'm expecting another daughter at the end of the month, I came to Amazon to purchase another one, when I came across the Britax Back Seat Mirror. It didn't have any reviews yet, but it looked nice, and I like Britax, so I decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you, I love this mirror.

It is sooo easy and quick to install, get secure, and angled correctly. The nice part is that it has straps to secure it to the headrest and then a pivot mount to adjust the angle, so you can secure it first and then adjust the angle. With the Baby In Sight mirror, you have to angle it and secure it all in the same step. I also had to stuff a blanket behind the mirror in order to keep it secure and at the right angle. The Britax is so much easier.

The other thing I love about this mirror is how clear it is. It's almost as clear as my rear view mirror, unlike the Baby In Sight, which is kind of blurry.

I highly recommend this mirror. I like it so much that I am buying another one to replace the Baby In Sight mirror I had been using for my older daughter.

(For reference, I drive a Volvo XC60.)

We bought a cheap mirror at 1st, could barely make out an image on that thing as was a bit warped and not well madethe Britax mirror is perfect (nearly distracting as it is so clear and can now see all the cute things my baby does in the back seat)

Honest reviews on Britax Back Seat Mirror

...Except for the fact that our car's headrest is part of the seat. There is no way to use the vertical strap to affix it, and the horizontal isn't enough to keep it in place. Too bad we recycled the box right away and are now stuck with a useless (for us) product!

We bought one of these a few months ago and kept taking it on and off to share between my car and my husband's car. Ordered a 2nd one b/c we liked it so much and didnt want the hassle of having to take it off all the time. Well, the 2nd one we ordered is not the same mirror...looks the same but it doesnt stay in place no matter what we do. My husband said something about the back being looser than the other one we have so there's nothing you can do to make it stay in place. Completely worthless! We recycled the box b/c we were so pleased with the first one, we didnt expect to have any problems.
