Love this car seat. We chose this due to the VERY high rating in Consumer Reports and because it had more padding than our other options. This was the one we placed in my wife's car for our little man's longer rides. Love the safety cushioning on the sides of the head.

We have twins, and our budget is limited. After doing much research, we settled on these convertible car seats because they come highly rated by Consumer Reports, and because the price is right for needing FOUR convertible seats total for my car and my husband's car. My only complaint is that in my car, rear-facing installation does not seem to be that safe (the seats slide around on my leather seats without some sort of pad underneath). Luckily our kids are old enough now that they can be front facing, which for this seat is way more secure in my car than rear facing. I did have to use the LATCH system as opposed to the seat belt method to get the most stability, though, again due to the leather seats.

As for the padding, I really don't have anything else to compare it to. Our kids don't seem uncomfortable on our trips, which aren't longer than an hour. Again, I think for the money, the padding is ample.

I ordered this from a different store and am returning it. While I didn't try to install the car seat forward facing I was unable to install it properly rear facing even after reading the manual and watching installation videos. I just ordered a replacement.
