We were packed to visit a relatives for the weekend. We had so many items fly around from the back of our SUV. Things we had packed loosely, not thinking that we'd have to worry about our car being upside down and those items moving.
Because of the design of this car seat (and installing it *correctly*) our daughter was completely protected.
I can not say enough about the side panels that protected our little girl's head and face. The seat belt kept her in the seat. The solid structure kept the seat attached to the car.
I was injured in the car accident, and my husband got cuts from the glass. Our daughter had zero physical injuries. Zero!
Thank GOD!
We will be having another baby soon, and we WILL be buying this car seat for that baby.

This is a HORRIBLE product for rear facing. I have not tried it forward facing. But I have spent hours trying to get it sufficiently tight to be safe using both the latch and the seat belt (and sometimes both together) and I think it might be impossible to get it as secure as it really should be. I bought this for travel and it works well in the airplane, but we have had our family buy a second Britax for visits as we are so much happier with the security of how they attach to the car. This is barely acceptable as a backup travel seat, and I would NEVER recommend it as your primary seat. Spend a little more, it is well worth it to get a different seat.Best Deals for Cosco - Scenera Convertible Car Seat, Broadway Dots
This is a light weight car seat that is great for travel on a plane. For everyday use, this is not good. It doesn't seem as secure forward or rear facing. It's very very difficult to adjust the straps and pull to tighten. I only recommend if you're using it for a plane, because it is one of the lightest car seats I've found.

As others have noted, this shouldn't even be advertised as a rear facing car seat. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to install this as a rear facing unit without having a very large and unacceptable level of wiggle room. I am amazed they are legally even allowed to sell this as a rear facing unit.It should also be noted that to install this as a rear facing unit, they ask you to use folded up towels to elevate the seat to the right height, but the towels will settle, compress, and move around over time. So the seat again becomes dangerously loose over the time as the towel changes position. Last time I am buying a Cosco product.
