I adore this seat.
I mean, yes okay, you have to unhook the straps and retread them every time you need to change the height, but really that's minor. The seat is a slim line and allows the seat to sit onto the seat in the car without the overhang and without the added bulk trying to get it in and out of the car. The carseat is no taller then the seat in the car even at max height (Buick LaSabre). My son is 45" and weighs 42 lbs but is only 3 yrs old. This seat not only has the height to keep him in the 5 point longer, but also has room to grow with him up to the 52" mark. The seat is nicely crafted and has a tight cover that keeps him from being able to pull it loose or require an additional cover. The head rest raises and lowers very easily along the back of the seat which allows the child's head to always be supported regardless of how tall their head reaches.
I bought this seat at my local walmart and it was cheaper then amazon. They also had more then just the grey color to choose from (pink and green also). However, this seat is a wonderful investment for both the safety and the comfort of my children. I travel a great deal with my kids, and their comfort is important. There is enough padding that they don't complain and they're high enough they can see out the windows.

I bought this carseat because my daughter was outgrowing her infant model and I wanted something that was rear-facing but also could hold her until she was ready for a booster. I didn't like some of the $50-60 seats because they didn't often go beyond 40 pounds and some of the cushioning seemed thin, especially around the child's bottom. The more expensive seats, in addition to their cost, can be bulky and hard to fit in a sedan; this is especially true when they are installed rear-facing.This seat is, in my view, the best of both worlds. It's modestly priced (although, as others have noted, it's currently significantly cheaper from Walmart as it is from Amazon), sturdily built, and has more cushioning in the important places than other value-priced seats. Installation is never fun for any carseat, but once I figured out what I was doing, it was no problem, and it fit without problem in my compact older-model Corolla. The manual does make a few small but critically important suggestions on how to install the seat rear-facing that make it relatively straightforward. Making adjustments to the seat often requires removing it from the car, but I found this to be true with most models I saw.
One other note: I have seen on a few sites an Eddie Bauer seat that runs for a lot more than this seat. I've inspected the Eddie Bauer in person and it is nothing more than a rebranded Guide 65 -they are identical in every way, down to the parts design and safety labels.
