I got this for my brand new car, leather seats, to protect it from my two kids, one age five, the other two. They would occasionally drop some crackers or worst case scenario juice on the seat and I didn't want all that getting ground into the seat and the crevices that I couldn't vacuum out. What I didn't expect was the sticky-seat side of the mat to melt into my leather seats and glue itself to the seat. After pulling it off there is still plastic residue all over the bottom of the seat and no cleaner I've tried will fix it. I've since taken a bath towel, cut it in half, and put each half under the seats.
Wait for a sale on bath towels and you can protect your seat for about $3 each, not whatever these cost now. Plus, you won't ruin your brand new seats.
For those who will wonder, its a Ford Fusion, black paint, black leather, in Miami, FL, so yeah, its hot, but that should have been considered when this was developed. Since thrown away.

I purchased this product a year and half ago. The non-skid material at the back of the seat started to stick to the leather seats of my Infiniti. I suspect that this material deteriorates with thermal cycling. I managed to remove most of this sticky material from my leather seats but some of it remains stuck probably forever. This was a disappointment given that the product is advertised as a "Premium 2-in-1 seat Protector". For me, it's definitely not a good seat protector if you have leather seats in your car.Best Deals for Kiddopotamus Elite Duomat 2 in 1 Car Seat Protector Mat
I've had two other seat protectors, and this one is by far the best. It's somewhere between the Prince Lionheart two-piece really stiff plastic protector and the One Step Ahead one-piece really flexible protector. This one is taller than One Step Ahead's, and is the perfect material. It stays stiff, really protecting our seats, but it's not SO stiff and thick that you have a hard time getting the seat tight enough. I love that the edges to this seat are flat (as opposed to Prince Lionheart's raised edges) it makes the footprint seem not quite so imposing. All around, I LOVE this seat, would definitely buy it again, and will recommend it to all my friends!Honest reviews on Kiddopotamus Elite Duomat 2 in 1 Car Seat Protector Mat
Yea, I was one of those dad's who said we don't need no stinkin' seat protector when we first installed our car seats. That was 2 years ago and what I thought was smooth plastic on the back of the car seat has created a crease and a tear in my wife's Civic. Didn't want the same thing happening to my new SUV so I got 2 of these Kiddopotamus seat protectors, they work GREAT!For those who say it "slides around"; DON'T BE SO LAZY AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY! After you buckle the car seat in on top of the seat protector you have to do something a little unusual. Depending on the vehicle, you should be able to pull the seat belt strap all the way out to engage it's locking mechanism, then when it draws up the remaining slack you can winch it tight and like magic, no movement.
This protector works very well. It could use an additional 3 inches in height to protect seats from the top lip of the car seat, but that lip isn't what caused the tear in the first place.
