We purchased two of these seats for our daughters. For the price, they are comfortable and functional. However, they are horrifying to clean. The manual says to only gently hand wash the cover with a mild soap. In the case of vomit or other unpleasant fluids, that doesn't cut it. In order to get the cover off the seat, you have to remove all the strapping, which makes sense, but also practically takes an act of Congress. The straps are incredibly difficult to remove and replace, and my hands bear the marks of trying. To be fair, this is the first time I have had to remove the covers of seats of this type, as opposed to infant car seats, and perhaps they are all equally difficult. On the plus side, even though the product warns not to machine wash, mine held up fairly well with the exception of some bunching of the inner material.

I was trying to find a comfortable car seat for my daughter because we take long road trip vacations and her infant car seat I didnt think was going to cut it when we drove 1,000 miles one way at Thanksgiving last year. I looked around and decided on this car seat. We have a Ford Focus and this car seat rear facing the passenger seat has to be all the way up, which means someone has to sit in the back seat with her until she is one and we can turn it around to forward facing. Other then us being cramp, she is very comfortable and that is what I was going for. She has lots of room for her legs and arms and I have been very happy with it for her. We are going to buy a second one for my husbands car :)I do recommend this product.Best Deals for Safety 1st All-in-One Convertible Car Seat, Scribbles
I purchased this car seat for my two year old daughter since I needed a replacement for her First Years True Fit car seat. I installed this car seat and it was snug as a glove and didn't budge a bit. The First Years True fit car seat was difficult to install and it still moves more than I would like. As for the recline feature, I think it is best used for seats that actually recline since only the back portion of the seat reclines. The all black padding attachment doesn't serve a purpose when forward facing because it causes the child's head to stick out uncomfortably, but you can easily take that part off. Overall, I like this car seat and I feel safer with my child in it. I'm considering buying a second one for my 9 month old son.Pros
-lightweight
-not bulky
-can last a long time
-installs perfectly
-high seat back
-easily adjusts from the front
-sits up high
-has a top tether
Cons
-huge, takes up entire seat back in minivan(wasn't an actual con for me because my daughter is big for her age and I feel it will last her a long time)
-recline feature only works best in seats that actually recline, otherwise it leaves a gap
-Not a lot of padding
Honest reviews on Safety 1st All-in-One Convertible Car Seat, Scribbles
This car seat works wonderfully and my son is very comfortable. He is in the 99 percentile in height and weight and outgrew his infant seat pretty quickly. There is definitely room for him to grow in this seat. Highly recommend this car seat.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Safety 1st All-in-One Convertible Car Seat, Scribbles
OK we've had this car seat for over 1 year now, got it while our 11 month old boy was still rear facing, did a bit of shopping for a convertible seat, and settled on this, based on:PRICE couldn't beat it at under 100 at the time.
LONGEVITY we figured the price would be even more worth it being it goes all the way to belt positioning mode
RECLINE OPTION We take long trips through mountainous terrain, and this helps his head from falling side to side while he's asleep.
SAFETY I felt this seat was average to moderate in quality, and reviews were high
The truth is, This seat is average. We have always disliked the loose fit that is a result of using the recline, and so I decided to go for a seat with some serious HEAD SUPPORT. Like Recaro, Diono, and Britax. I'm talking about those foam side cushions . I have seen many customer photos showing children with heads resting comfortably, in an upright position, it just looks safer. Not to mention, Sunshine Kids/Diono and Recaro ARE crash tested, I mean these are really CAR seats, The price? After the past 2 years of the Safety 1st seat, I'm excited to have ordered the Diono Radian RXT... I chose it primarily for it's HEAD CUSHIONING/SIDE IMPACT SUPPORT, SLIM DESIGN, AND SAFETY RATING. I almost went for Britax Frontier 85(loved the cup holders), but no side cushions---and almost chose REcaro ProSport, but it looked huge. Check on my review for the Diono RADIAN RXT next, should be up in a week or two.
All in all I think this is an average car seat for those who can get it to fit snugly, above average I suppose! PS the cover is a major PAIN to remove for washing-get a protector instead. It's kind of a bargain if that's what you're looking for, but now I'm looking for MORE!
