Our son is very tall & we want to rear face for 2+ years if possible this seat is comfortable, srurdy and well made, it is lightweight because it's all plastic so event though it's big it's not too hard to install we've been using it for over a year now in our minivan, no problems, my only complaint is that the straps seem a bit easier to get twisted than some other models out there we got used to it but the grand parents have problems figuring it out. Also for all the seats we looked at noddles and towels to get them level are always an issue this one did not have that problem but it does recline quite far back once we get into position in our Honda Odyssey minivan would not fit in our Saab 9-5 sedan with enough room for someone in front passenger seat with any comfort & did require rolled up towel to fit in that car which has a different level on the seat. Our son seems to like the "wings" near his head & can still look out the window & around the car, it's a nice place to rest his head when he falls asleep which is what he mostly does in the car.

I love this car seat. My favorite things is the side impact and head support. My baby brother was involved in fatal side impact car accident in the early 90's. I wish they had seats like this then, there is no doubt, it would have saved his life. Because of my history, side impact proctection was a must. I bought this when my son turned 8 months. He is a hoss (at 11 mths 30 pounds and 31.5 inches), and fits nicely. The straps are not easily twisted, lay flat and the harness buckles do not dig. The seat is big, but comfortable, material is great, easy to clean, and his vision isn't distrubed by the "wings" as many may think. The adjustable harness is great, and the reclilne feature makes fitting to your car simple. I drive a Toyota Highlander and have plenty of room. Rear facing installation is always challenging, I do not think this product was any different compared to other rear facing installations. Bottom line, I love this seat, I feel that my child is protected, he is comfortable, and I know this seat will last us a few years. The construction and desgin I feel is flawless.Best Deals for Safety 1st Complete Air 65 LX Convertible Car Seat

This is a great seat if you meet three criteria: 1) you have a very tall toddler, 2) you want to keep them rear-facing as long as possible, and 3) you can put them in the middle seat of your car or have LOTS of room for a seat. All three of these applied to us, and we are very happy with the seat. I'm not sure this would be my top pick if any of those three didn't apply.Other reviewers have raised concerns about how much space this seat takes up. We have a minivan, and I don't think it would fit rear-facing if we put it on either side (it fits just fine in the middle), so that's definitely something to be aware of when buying.
Another drawback is that it has some non-washable parts. That wasn't such a big deal until our son's recent stomach bug...
Aside from those concerns, though, our son is very comfortable in the seat, and it was fairly easy to install. Most importantly, we want to keep him rear-facing until at least two and possible longer, and as a kid who is well above the 98th percentile for height, he was going to outgrow most other seats.
