Cheap Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter

Bugaboo Bee Car Seat Adapter, Chicco

Pay attention to the small print! Though it is very hard to notice unless you are looking for it, this part is listed as "for the newer Bees only". If you have an old Bee (with the solid wheels) this part will work but is very sloppy and loose. I can't find the correct part on Amazon, and so I ended up with this part without understanding the difference, and now I have adapters that don't really fit. I'm writing this to hopefully help others avoid the same mistake.

Bugaboo, you should make this more clear, or better: Don't make and sell parts that are subtly incompatible... it just causes problems for your customers.

Signed, a disappointed customer with a sloppy adapter.

Beware--this product DOES NOT WORK on older Bee models. It ONLY works on the Bee+ models (the ones with the spokes in the wheels, not the older ones with the solid white wheels). You'd think that a company as well respected as Bugaboo would have maybe mentioned that on the box...or on their website...OR to their customer reps, but no! Waste of money, have to send it back, and SO frustrated that I cannot click my wonderful Chicco Keyfit infant car seat into my wonderful Bugaboo Bee.

I prefer the MaxiCosi infant car seat and the attachments that come for bugaboo bee stroller. Very easy to use and store away when not using.

Honest reviews on Bugaboo Car Seat Adapter

I searched high and low for adapters for the bugaboo bee that would work with my Cybex Aton infant car seat. No one seemed to know if these would work. I finally came across a few websites that stated all maxi cosi adapters will work with cybex. So, I ordered these adapters and what do you know! They fit perfect.

I could not be happier!

When I originally started my baby registry, I had registered for the Graco SnugRide 35 and the Bugaboo Graco car seat adapter. After reading reviews online (both here on Amazon.com and on other sites), I began to doubt my selection the majority of the reviews stated that the Bugaboo Graco car seat adapter didn't work as well with the "SnugRide 35" model, only the "SnugRide" and "SnugRide 32" models. Of course, I could have just as easily registered for one of the other versions of the Graco car seat; however, I ended up registering for the Maxi-Cosi car seat instead (again, after reading reviews). One thing to note getting the car seat in and out of the adapters isn't a one-handed operation, you definitely need both hands. That doesn't bother me so much, and I LOVE my stroller...so the adapters basically turn this stroller into the Bugaboo version of the Graco SnugRider stroller frame!

I bought this because I had the Graco MyRide 65, which is pretty hard for my 3 year old to get in and out of on his own because it's a pretty big car seat. I have to pick him up and cradle him like a baby to put him in... and he is far from baby sized now.

I chose this one because it is a booster with a harness that uses the latch system/anchor system. My son is still too small for the seat belt only booster seats, and the ones of those I have seen do not use any latch system, but just sits on the seat. I'm not comfortable with that at all... I want some added protection for my child in case of a crash... knowledge that the seat is securely strapped down to the seat and won't go anywhere in case of a seat belt failure.

I DO like the fact that the latch has an easy release button to help loosen the latch belt for removal. The Graco did not and it was hard to position it just right to get it loosened enough to take it out. BUT it is REALLY hard to install alone. You have to put your knee into the seat and pull up on the latch belt to tighten it... impossible from the angle in which you are pulling. I had to get my husband (who does his fair share of weight lifting) to do it while I sat on the seat, and it was hard for even him. The crotch strap is too close, even on the outer most setting but my son doesn't complain too much about it.

When tightening the harness, you have to be careful because it tightens up unevenly. I don't need to tell you that is a dangerous thing.

The seat is harder than the Graco MyRide 65, but it is what I was looking for size wise. I don't think the arm rests are removable, and you need a screw driver to adjust the headrest up and down, but it should be a while before I need to adjust it. Overall it seems sturdy and safe. And if I have anymore opinions on it, I will update for sure.

*******UPDATE*******

We are returning this seat. The latch did not tighten the way that we thought that it did. It actually stayed loose. The hole that the latch belt goes through is placed too awkward. The latch will tighten completely when not trying to install it, but when installing it, it only goes so far and leaves about 2 inches of slack and will NOT budge. That's way too much play. It won't tighten with the car seat belt either. I own a 2001 Lincoln LS. No other car seat that I have owned has done this. This thing has a major design flaw for sure. I will just stick with my Graco seat. I would rather go through a little annoyances with putting him in the seat and know that he is safe, than to have to constantly worry if the seat is installed properly.

I bought these car seats for my 3 year old twins. I do not like them. The arm rests were totally in the way. I got my husband cut them off. What really annoys me though is how the straps are CONSTANTLY twisted. No matter now many times I fix them they are twisted back up the next day. I decided I better come write a review when my twins started saying, "Mama, you HATE these car seats??" Guess I only thought I was muttering it under my breath . . .

We bought this seat almost a year ago for our toddler, and have been quite happy with it... until tonight. I did a lot of shopping around for a convertible booster, and one of the features I liked about this seat is that the cover removes for washing (the booklet says so!). After almost a year of sippy cup spills, ours really needed it. And when I began to remove the cover, that's when the love turned into hate.

The design of this seat makes the removal of the cover a nightmare of monstrous proportions. Every tiny little piece has to be removed. The straps have to come out, the buckles come out, the little plastic clips in the back and bottom that you have to pry out with a screwdrivereverything. By the time I got the cover off the seat (again, the booklet says this is something I'm supposed to be able to do), I was ready to round up the designers of the seat with cattleprods and herd them into a canyon.

After washing (which was the easy part, the seat cushion/material DOES hold up very well), I went through the same ordeal in reverse getting the cover back on. This time I didn't want to do bodily harm to the designersI was too tired. I think it sucked out my will to live.

As far as the structure and functionality of the seat goes, we've never had an issue. But even with a second baby on the way, I've vowed there is no way on this planet I will ever try to take this cover off and wash it again. I'd rather get a second job and buy a new seat altogether.

Our 3 year old son uses this booster and we are pleased with its functionality; sometimes the buckle is a bit hard to unfasten, but overall it is easily adjustable and user-friendly, especially when compared to similarly-priced competitors.

I purchased this seat for my son who was four years old at the time. He is now almost five and a half and is still using it in the 5 pt harness setting. He enjoys it, has never said anything about it being uncomfortable and I like that it is slim and fits nicely next to his baby sister's infant seat. It's easy enough that he can buckle himself in which is nice. I also like that it has a top tether, as tethering is very important to me. HOWEVER, I have a few complaints: 1) There is not much room between him and the buckle. Nearly every time I put him in it, I have to make him sit all the way back against the seat as far as he can in order to buckle him in. He was annoyed by this for a little while but now he's used to it and can do it himself. 2) The chest clip can be difficult to undo. I have to use both hands and even then sometimes I'm fighting to get it undone. 3) The straps tend to twist. It's annoying since every time I put him in it, I'm usually untwisting the straps.

It works fine for him, especially since soon he'll be using it as a belt-positioning booster. But I am looking for something different for my next son who needs a new seat. I didn't like the Vantage that much.

I love my Quinny stroller! I love the look of it (modern, simple and stylish) and I love the functionality of it, which is a way more important factor when it comes to babies and all their gear. Our son is three months old so we've started him in the Quinny Dreami Bassinet and he feels so cozy in it! It's got a PLUSH liner throughout the whole inside of it and a foamy cushioned bottom. More often that not, we put him down in it and he sleeps in it all through the night, and, sleeps better in it than in his crib. He seems lost in his crib and he's seemingly much more content in the cushy bassinet. Besides quickly interchanging the bassinet on and off (one button press on each side and off it goes!) it also interchanges wonderfully with the Maxi-Cosi car seat that we have. Soooo convenient!!!! And you can have forward or backwards versatility, again with the push of one button. It collapses super easily. And, I love how it unfolds automatically. No fighting with it in the Target parking lot! The brake system is well thought out and lastly, the turning radius is awesome. Turns really easily in small elevators and store aisles. My brother is having a baby in the fall and I've totally recommended he buy this stroller.

Left frame hub L was assemble with a inverted R piece by manufacture and this is clear an assemble issue that prevents CLICK and correct alignment slot. THere is a clear risk to the baby as Buzz is unstable. I simply can send picture showing the 2 sides of frame with R and inverted R, not a L piece. Expect feedback.

Unfortunetly I could not use the product in order to be able evaluate it. I was traveling in the USA and payed the express delivery to receive the product in 2 days, before my departure to Brazil. The product arrived in the hotel I was hosted amazing 6 days after the order and a friend of mine took the product because at that moment I was back home in Brazil. Then I had to pay a US$45 fee to send the product back to you, what is an absurd! I had to pay to fix an Amazons' mistake!!! You should at least take the product for free, considering that I could not bring it to Brazil because you delivered in 6 days a 2 days express delivery. I urge you charge me back the US$45 fee!

I bought this last minute (thank you Amazon Prime) when I realized that I wanted to bring a car seat along for my 16 month old daughter on a red eye flight. This particular trip I was travelling alone, and knowing that she sleeps better in her carseat didn't want to have a stroller, roller bag, diaper bag, and a car seat to lug around the airport. We have a Graco 360 and it fits very well with this unit. We are expecting again in May so I sprung for this model as it will allow us to use the Chicco Keyfit infant car seat as well (with the attachment that is sold separately for about $30). Bottom line is I was able to easily transport my daughter around the airport, and quickly detach the car seat on the jet way and gate check the Travelmate before boarding the plane. One pro over the stroller is that I can detach the straps on that lock the car seat on, and keep her inside of the car seat until I was ready to unbuckle her, pick her up and board the plane. When using a stroller, you have to remove your child while collapsing the stroller which can be a bit of a pain with younger children as they are sometimes already a bit wary of the new environment, tired, cranky, and would rather be held (which is challenging when collapsing some strollers). This made a more stressful solo airplane ride much easier for myself and my child!. For this particular trip we don't really need a stroller, but it could easily replace a stroller for a shopping trip to a mall (wouldn't recommend for going to the beach, theme park, etc.) Only downside is that the rear wheels sometimes catch on a small screw that sticks out (I didn't spend a ton of time double checking installation so it may be human error) but a simple straightening out resolves this problem easily.

I bought this for my daughter to make her move to Kakakhstan easier...She loved it! The 6 hour layover was easy for her 2 year old as he was contained comfortably in his car seat.

Gave 3 stars because I don't want to say the product is good or bad since we could not actually use it for the following reason. This review addresses only the packaging that the product came in -while the product looks good and we were very excited to purchase it, we could not use it because it came to us broken. The GoGo Babyz Travelmate Deluxe shipped by Amazon does not come in its own box (for the price, one would have thought there would be a product box). The product simply came in a large Amazon box with some brown packing paper placed on the bottom of the box. The large box contained no other insulation. None was placed around the product; none was placed on the sides or the top. Not surprisingly the product arrived damaged. Made out plastic, one of the plastic parts came broken off. We are returning. So disappointed as we are going on a trip in few days. Hopefully Amazon will not make this mistake for future customers purchasing this product.

I love this! I use it when I take my daughter to daycare, the store... I prefer this over her stroller. It's so easy to use. I purchased the locking device too through GoGoBabyz store, so I wouldn't have to use the straps. It's jus like putting her carseat into the base. Best kept secret. Everybody comments about it.

I traveled with our 3 month old baby on two long-haul flights with a connection both ways, and this product was the only thing that made it possible. We bought a seat for baby, which meant she had to travel in her carseat. The only problem is that the car seat is so heavy that I can barely lift it to carry from car to house, let alone carry it through multiple airports while juggling a rolling suitcase and handbag. And I really didn't want to take our stroller and have to gate check it, because I heard that's the a great way to get your stroller damaged and of course the warranty doesn't cover airline damage. So I checked our stroller in its travel bag and used the car seat on the Go-Go Babyz in the airport. I read loads of reviews and bought this one based on the reviews it sounded more sturdy and less likely to let me down mid-way through our trip, or to fall apart and send my baby tumbling through the airport. It took some figuring out to get our carseat (Maxi Cosi Prezi) attached to it, but we did not have any major problems with it it's well made and once the car seat is attached (it straps at four points two on each side) it seems pretty secure. One strap came unfastened at one point during our journey, but the other three held the carseat in place so well that I didn't notice the unfastened one till I was taking the carseat off. I rolled the Go-Go Babyz in one hand and my rolling carry on suitcase in the other with a handbag on my shoulder. It was really smooth and the only thing that slowed me down was having to answer questions from several people about where I bought the Go-Go Babyz!

The only problem I had with it was taking the car seat off while in the plane. The Go-Go Babyz is just barely slim enough to roll down the airplane aisle and if the plane is slightly smaller (like the regional jet we had on part of one trip) it won't fit, so you have to take your carseat off and carry it and the Go-Go Babyz down the aisle which was impossible for me with a small rolling suitcase and a handbag as well. Luckily there were very nice flight attendants who helped me with my luggage. Taking the carseat off the Go-Go Babyz takes a couple of minutes too, which doesn't sound like a big deal until you have a line of people waiting to board behind you. It would be really great if the car seat could lock into the Go-Go Babyz the way it locks into its base or into our stroller. But the way it's made now means that almost any infant car seat could work with it, and I guess if they made it to lock in, it would need need some kind of adapter system. In any case, I'm glad I bought it. It was really helpful for our trip and I would definitely recommend this to parents traveling alone with their babies.
