Cheap SnoozeShade for Infant Carriers - the breathable sleep and sun

Our third baby unexpectedly arrived six weeks early and spent two weeks in NICU. When we finally brought our little boy home, I was paranoid about protecting him from germs especially after being told by the NICU nurses and doctors to keep our baby away from crowds for the next few months. I used a blanket to cover the car seat on our first few outings, but was concerned that the blanket might fall on the baby or that he might not be able to breathe properly with a blanket over the seat.

I am soooo happy with this cover and wish I had had it from day 1. It attaches easily to the handles of our car seat (Safety 1st Air Protect On Board 35) and is very easy to fold down and fold back. My primary reason for wanting this cover was as a germ barrier and it serves its purpose in that respect. It is also working out great as a weather barrier. It was raining this morning when I took my older children to school and this cover kept the baby protected from the rain. It is also fantastic on bright, sunny days for keeping the sun out of the baby's eyes both while going to and from the car and while in the car. I do not need to purchase sun shades for my car windows because I just keep the car seat covered on very bright days.

The fabric of this cover has little holes in it and is definitely breathable. It reminds me of an Adidas or Under Armour technical sports fabric. I thought the baby might get warm under the cover on the hot days at the end of August, but that was not the case. I also find it funny that my baby always sleeps soundly when this cover is on his car seat since it is called the "Snooze Shade". I initially just wanted this cover to protect my baby from strangers touching him or coughing on him, however it has exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this cover!

I am a mother of 8 and have already tried the JJ cole car seat cover, the elastic broke and the Velcro came off. I was looking into this one for some time and finally got it, I love it so much, it is big for those bulky car seats, dark for nap time, and stylish, I have gotten so many compliments it is crazy. The largest benefit is that no one comes up to me trying to touch my baby, it keeps the privacy factor going. I love this cover and would buy tons more for friends if they were having any children.

My husband and I got this shade based on the reviews and have not been disappointed. My son gets easily distracted when trying to go to sleep if we are out running errands. When we pull the snooze shade down, he knows that it is okay to nap. He never seems to get too hot, it keeps it nice and dark, and I don't have to open it very wide to watch him. I can't be more happy with this purchase!

This has become an absolute must have for Summer babies particularly! One of the few things I purchased for my third boy. Great for keeping sun and bugs off as well as creating a dark space to nap on the go. All moms on the go should have one and I can't imagine going anywhere without it!

This worked well in the summer when I needed to keep my daughter out of the sun. It was breathable and easy to use. I do think it gets a bit warm, so I wouldn't use it in hot weather for long periods.

The pros: This seat is very light. Much lighter than the car seat I purchased for my first child 5 years ago. I can carry her around for quite some time in it, and the seat adds very little to her weight.

The price is right. I don't believe in paying $400 for a car seat that has the same safety rating as one that costs 1/5 of that price. That's why I've purchased multiple Cosco brand seats.

The cons: You can't adjust the shoulder straps while the seat is in the base. And it's even kind of difficult to adjust the straps with a baby in it. That's because the straps are only adjustable from the rear, and require wiggling them out of little toothed metal pieces that hold them in place. I've purchased several other Cosco models, and they were all adjustable from the front by depressing a rectangular button. You'd press on the button to loosen the straps, and pull on the straps from the front to tighten them. It was the same with other brands of car seat I've owned. This feature is great when you want to change the strap tightness from day to day to accommodate the presence or absence of bulky clothing. After half a dozen car seats between my children, I assumed all car seats were this way. But not this one. It can take several minutes to change the strap tightness, with or without the child in the seat, and it's impossible to do so if the seat is connected to the base. No more last minute strap adjustments for us. If I'd known this beforehand, I'm sure I wouldn't have purchased it. It's that much of a pain.

Also, some reviewers have complained that the seat won't latch to the base. We thought so to, until we read the instructions. There are two red rods that stick out the side of the seat, toward the rear. Those rods are meant to be aligned with notches in the base. We thought those rods were supposed to lock in place, which is why we repeatedly set the rods into the notches, and then were dismayed when we could still lift out the seat without disengaging the lock. Then we read the obvious instructions on the side of the seat. It states quite clearly that the rods are not meant to attach the seat to the base. They merely help guide you into locking the seat properly. The seat locks into the base at the front of the seat, not the rear. If you align the rods to the notches, then press the seat into the base at the front, rather than the rear, it will snap in quite easily.

I purchased this for my wife's sisters baby the damn thing was junk the seat would not stay locked in the base I have a Eddie Bauer seat and comparing the two the safety on the one I have is way more safe does not fall out of base I would pay more any day for the safety of my child

This was everything we hoped for. I love that the seat is a little more reclining than others we have owned. And it clicks in and out of the car so easily. Plus the fact that you don't need a base if you change cars is awesome!
