I got this for my brand new car, leather seats, to protect it from my two kids, one age five, the other two. They would occasionally drop some crackers or worst case scenario juice on the seat and I didn't want all that getting ground into the seat and the crevices that I couldn't vacuum out. What I didn't expect was the sticky-seat side of the mat to melt into my leather seats and glue itself to the seat. After pulling it off there is still plastic residue all over the bottom of the seat and no cleaner I've tried will fix it. I've since taken a bath towel, cut it in half, and put each half under the seats.

Wait for a sale on bath towels and you can protect your seat for about $3 each, not whatever these cost now. Plus, you won't ruin your brand new seats.

For those who will wonder, its a Ford Fusion, black paint, black leather, in Miami, FL, so yeah, its hot, but that should have been considered when this was developed. Since thrown away.

I purchased this product a year and half ago. The non-skid material at the back of the seat started to stick to the leather seats of my Infiniti. I suspect that this material deteriorates with thermal cycling. I managed to remove most of this sticky material from my leather seats but some of it remains stuck probably forever. This was a disappointment given that the product is advertised as a "Premium 2-in-1 seat Protector". For me, it's definitely not a good seat protector if you have leather seats in your car.

I've had two other seat protectors, and this one is by far the best. It's somewhere between the Prince Lionheart two-piece really stiff plastic protector and the One Step Ahead one-piece really flexible protector. This one is taller than One Step Ahead's, and is the perfect material. It stays stiff, really protecting our seats, but it's not SO stiff and thick that you have a hard time getting the seat tight enough. I love that the edges to this seat are flat (as opposed to Prince Lionheart's raised edges) it makes the footprint seem not quite so imposing. All around, I LOVE this seat, would definitely buy it again, and will recommend it to all my friends!

Honest reviews on Kiddopotamus Elite Duomat 2 in 1 Car Seat Protector Mat

Yea, I was one of those dad's who said we don't need no stinkin' seat protector when we first installed our car seats. That was 2 years ago and what I thought was smooth plastic on the back of the car seat has created a crease and a tear in my wife's Civic. Didn't want the same thing happening to my new SUV so I got 2 of these Kiddopotamus seat protectors, they work GREAT!

For those who say it "slides around"; DON'T BE SO LAZY AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY AND CAREFULLY! After you buckle the car seat in on top of the seat protector you have to do something a little unusual. Depending on the vehicle, you should be able to pull the seat belt strap all the way out to engage it's locking mechanism, then when it draws up the remaining slack you can winch it tight and like magic, no movement.

This protector works very well. It could use an additional 3 inches in height to protect seats from the top lip of the car seat, but that lip isn't what caused the tear in the first place.

This seat protector is great. I have leather seats in my SUV and they were getting really bad dents in them from the car seat. Since I got the Kiddopotamus Elite Duomat, I have not had any more dents. It also helps keep my daughters food and drink spills from getting on the leather too. I wish that I had found this product when I had my first child.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is our second Graco infant carseat. The first one is still in good condition, but it expired before our third child outgrew it (did you know that carseats have expiration dates?) There have been some nice design changes in the last 5 plus years and some changes that I do not love. Here are the pros and cons as I see them.

Pros:

:: It is the lightest infant car seat for infants 4 to 35 lbs. That being said, it is still heavy when you have a growing child in it :)

:: Since it is recommended that kids stay facing backwards in the car until they are 2 now, it is nice that kids can stay in this carseat until they are 35 lbs (because to me an infant carseat facing backwards takes up less room in the car than a toddler carseat facing backwards).

:: The fabric is nice and the outer shell is easily removable, so it can be thrown in the washing machine to clean.

:: It has four slots so you can to adjust the strap height depending on your child's size (our previous model only had 3).

:: The base is easy to install.

:: It comes with an infant insert which is great for small babies.

Cons

:: The shade crinkles (makes noise) when you move it. This is not ideal when you have a sleeping baby.

:: The shade is hard to open and close, especially when you have the handle up because they rub against each other.

:: While it is said to fit with Graco Click Connect strollers, it does not fit securely into the (older) universal stroller frame (like our first Graco did). I guess I would just recommend that if you are not going to buy a Graco stroller, that you do good research to make sure this carseat is compatible with your stroller.

With baby products, I have found that there is no perfect carseat, stroller etc because there are varying features and no product does it all. We have several Graco products and I am impressed with the quality and durability. I recommend this carseat despite the minor annoyances I found with it.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Having been out of the parenting scene for almost twenty years it was quite a culture shock to find that our home would soon be welcoming a new little one. Car seats twenty years ago didn't offer much in the way of extras and at that time infant seats were given to new parents at the hospital. When we began looking for a car seat for our expected bundle of joy we decided to purchase Graco SnugRide Classic Connect Infant Car Seat, Little Hoot. As this was the only seat we were using at the time and had little experience with what car seats now offer we didn't realize how much we were missing until we received this seat for review.

The Graco SnugRide Classic Connect Infant Car Seat, Little Hoot only accommodates a baby up to 22 pounds, the harness straps have to be adjusted manually(UGH!) each time we put baby into the seat, and the reclining feature is very difficult to reach and use in the rear facing position.

We fell in love with this car seat immediately. The color is nice for our little boy but the car seat fabric is kinda rough so we use a Kiddopotamus Snuzzler Complete Head and Body Support, Ivory Terry. The harness straps are released with the pull of a lever located in the seat and tightened with a pull of a strap. Had I known what a difference this would have made in ease of use we would have purchased our first seat with this feature. I now know it is a must have for infant car seats.

The Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35 was a breeze to install in our vehicle. The installation meter on the base of the car seat is easy to read and with just a quick glance you can see if the seat is properly installed and in the correct position or if adjustments need to be made.

The reclining mechanism is controlled with a knob on the front of the base and can be reached and turned easily.

Removing and putting the seat into the base is very easy, with or without baby inside, and it is lighter in weight than our original seat.

The only thing we find we don't like about this seat is the shade. It doesn't cover our little ones face as much as the Graco SnugRide Classic Connect Infant Car Seat, Little Hoot and is difficult to open if the handle is in the carry position.

Of the two car seats we prefer this one. It does cost more than the Graco SnugRide Classic Connect Infant Car Seat, Little Hoot but it is worth it in my opinion to have the extras offered with this seat.

This car seat looks and feels great, unfortunately Graco decided to update to the 'click-connect' system without letting other stroller manufacturers know about it (I was told this by one of them) and hence there are no travel system adapters available out there right now or in the near future.

So unless you have a dedicated Click Connect stroller from Graco, you should stay away from this system.

Honest reviews on Graco SnugRide Click Connect 35 Car Seat

The Snug Ride Click Connect 35 seat really impressed me. Two years ago when we were in the market for a new infant carrier car seat I was very disappointed in the quality of the Graco Snug Ride infant carriers. We had used a Snug Ride with our two older children and we loved the seat. When it came time to buy a new one for our youngest I was unimpressed by the poor quality of the Graco seats. The handles were flimsy and the seat covers were thin and not as nicely padded as they used to be. So two years ago we chose the Chicco KeyFit 22 over Graco. It seems like Graco stepped up the quality over the past couple of years. The handle on this seat is just as nice as they used to be 11 years ago. In fact, I think the handle is just as nice and comfortable to carry as the Chicco KeyFit. The padding for the seat is good. It's not as cushy as the KeyFit, but it's comparable to the Britax B-Safe. The Graco seat has the added advantage of holding a child from 4lbs up to 35lbs. Our KeyFit is only for infants up to 22lbs and was outgrown a while ago. My 18 month old (20lbs 31 inches) fits in this Graco infant carrier with room to grow. The seat must be comfortable because she didn't want to get out of it when she tested it out. So if you're looking for a seat that will have some longevity, this one will work.

The seat is light. It weighs in at 7 ½ lbs which is significantly lighter than our Key Fit and B-Safe infant carriers. That makes a big difference in how long you can carry your child around in the seat. I wouldn't want to have to carry my 18 month old around in this seat, but I was able to carry her when we tested it out.

I did find that the canny for the seat, seems to get in the way when you adjust the carry handle. It is a bit of a nuisance, but there good news is you can detach the canopy if the obstruction really irritates you. I had similar issues with the canopy getting in the way with our Chicco KeyFit seat, but the problem seems a little worse with this Graco seat.

I like the front adjust for the for the harness. I won't entertain using an infant carrier that doesn't have a harness that can be adjusted from the front. The carriers that adjust from the rear just aren't practical since it's easier to put a baby in the seat if you can loosen the harness first.

Installing the base was relatively easy. It's not as easy as installing the Chicco Key Fit base, but it's a lot easier than fighting with the Britax B-Agile base which is a pain in the rear. My biggest complaint about the base for this seat is there is only one level indicator. If you are installing this seat on the driver's side of the car you will not be able to see the level. I prefer to have a level indicator on both sides to eliminate any confusion. Britax and Chicco both have two level indicators on their car seat bases.

Adjusting the incline on the base is as simple as turning the dial on the seat. It's easier to adjust the incline on this seat than it is to do the same with the Britax B-Safe base. It's say it's on par with the ease of use for the KeyFit base.

Overall, the infant carrier is decent and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

Ive used a Graco snug ride 35 with each of my 3 kids. Wouldn't use another seat. Roomy enough to keep babies in this seat for first year...lite enough to carry for a year! 2 downfalls-1-cant carry it when the canopy is up; no room between handle n canopy. 2-if crying in seat, baby gets hot n sweaty. Would like a different material.

This is a review of the Britax B-Safe infant car seat, updated for the 2012 version of the Britax B-Safe (which is to say, not a lot of updates, since there aren't any differences between the model years!). I am a mom with two small children and have owned and/or tested over 30 car seats in the past 5 years. Overall, the Britax B-Safe is a wonderful infant seat that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to friends and family. It is very similar in features and price to the Chicco Keyfit 30 Car Seat, so I'll give a basic comparison to help parents decide between the two.

First of all, if you want to use a Britax stroller, such as the Britax B-Agile Stroller or the Britax B-Scene Stroller, choosing the B-Safe car seat totally makes sense. The click-n-go adapters that come with the car seat (already attached) and the receivers on the strollers (easy to attach, takes under 30 seconds) make it seamless to convert those Britax strollers into fantastic travel systems. If you want to use a non-Britax stroller, check with that stroller's manufacturer to see if they make a car seat adaptor that's compatible with Britax infant seats. It does take practice to line up the connectors when you're dropping in the car seat, but it does get easier with time.

Moving beyond travel system usage, let's take a look at the car seats themselves.

Fit: The Britax B-Safe and the Chicco KeyFit 30 both have a 30lb weight limit. The B-Safe has a stated height limit of 32", vs the KeyFit's 30" limit. In reality, both seats are outgrown when your child's head is 1" from the top of the shell, and in reality, the Britax shell is no taller than the Chicco. So don't let that stated limit trick you into preferring the B-Safe.

Both the B-Safe and the KeyFit 30 fit tiny babies really well, thanks to the infant padding provided by each manufacturer. Both of these seats fit small babies FAR better than the Graco Snugride 35 Infant Car Seat. The B-Safe's head and body pad is removable for older babies at the discretion of the parent, whereas the infant body padding in the KeyFit must be removed after baby weighs 11lbs, though the head pad removal is at the parent's discretion in that seat. Both seats also fit older infants well, with plenty of harness positions (a major downfall of the Graco Snugride 22 Infant Car Seat, which only has two harness heights). I give a slight edge to the Britax because it has two crotch strap positions. I'd recommend that parents buy an infant seat with a 30 or 35lb weight limit rather than the 22lb limit any day -avoid the SnugRide 22!

The Britax B-Safe has one drawback on the "fit" side of things: the straps can be somewhat "twisty", e.g. they can get twisted in the buckles and can be a pain to untangle. This is because the straps are the thinner, more slippery webbing. The Chicco straps are slightly thicker and do not twist easily in the buckles, which is a big win in my book (my husband twists the straps in the B-Safe buckles every time he takes our daughter out of the car...it's a talent, really!).

Note: After outgrowing either of these seats, you'll want to move your child into a rear-facing convertible car seat and keep them rear-facing to the limits of that seat, NOT into a forward facing seat. Check the AAP recommendations on this -they recommend keeping your child rear-facing to age 2 or the limits of your car seat, which is usually 35-40lbs and way past age two. Your child is 500% safer rear-facing!

Installation: Both seats come with one base, which you install in the car and leave there even when removing the infant car seat. Both bases have an adjustable "boot" that helps you to achieve the appropriate angle of recline, and both have a level indicator on the base. The Chicco base wins for ease of installation, with its pull-strap mechanism for LATCH and easy seat belt lockoffs. The Britax base is easy enough to use, but the tightening mechanism isn't as smooth, and the belt lockoff requires a TON of force to open and close, making the parent feel like they're going to break it! For installing without a base, the Chicco KeyFit also wins, since the seatbelt guides are exposed already, whereas with the Britax seatbelt guides are under the cover, so you have to futz with elastic bands on the cover every single time you want to access them.

Fabric: Britax gets the edge in fabric, with a slightly easier to wipe clean seat cover. I highly recommend the black for hiding dirt. The KeyFit 30 has light colors in the head and feet area, both of which show sweat and grime marks readily. Both the Britax seat and the Chicco seat are warm -there's not a lot to be done about this. If you have a sweaty baby, they're going to sweat in any infant seat.

Canopy: Britax wins hands-down in the canopy, with a generous canopy that stays where you put it. I know that would seem like such a simple thing, but the KeyFit canopy really does not always stay fully extended, and it's not as long as the B-Safe canopy, which is really nice when you want to shade your baby! Added benefit: the B-Safe canopy is so long that if you have two kids sitting next to each other in car seats, the B-Safe canopy can actually prevent them from seeing each other if it's fully extended, which can be great if you want to encourage car naps.

Customer Service and Manual: both Britax and Chicco have well-written manuals. Britax customer service gets a slight edge, with very knowledgeable techs answering the phones.

So overall, I give the new Britax B-Safe a 4-star rating, to account for its few quirks and twisty straps, and recommend it. The deciding factor for me would really be stroller compatibility above all.

My wife and I are expecting our first baby boy in February 2013. We have been preparing as much as possible for the little man's arrival. We have both done considerable research regarding out major baby purchases which led us to Britax.

My wife is a public health nurse for a local health department working with high-risk expecting mothers. This experience provides her with an over abundance of literature for child safety products and practices.

Her health department recommends three different car seats to it's clients: the Graco Snug-Ride 35, the Chicco Key Fit, and the Britax B-Safe. The first two choices are purchased more often due to availability and associated costs.

Although the Britax is a more expensive product line, it makes up for it in user convenience and quality craftsmanship. Britax nearly pioneered child car seat safety standards and definitely goes above and beyond when considering user ergonomics. Purchasing the Britax product line through Amazon opposed to a retail store made the cost comparable to the other two leading brands.

When this seat arrived in the mail, I removed it from the box and inspected the items. After quickly reading through the installation instructions i decided I would make my first attempt to install a car seat. My wife though I wouldn't get it done exactly right because statistically speaking, around 90 percent of car seats are installed incorrectly.

So I installed the seat base in my Toyota Highlander
